Where do I start, a idyllic thatched cottage set in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest. Helen and Peter are the perfect hosts offering advice from local walks and pubs to day trips to to the Isle of Wight!
The cottage was certainly dog friendly with a secure garden, yet was spotlessly dean.
A fully equipped kitchen made it a pleasure to cook meals and enjoy a glass or two of wine in evening in front of the log burning stove.
Enjoyed many a great meal in the local dog friendly pubs.
Certainly a home from home, already booked our return holiday
We love Helen, Peter and the cottage. We discovered this cottage the first year it was open and have stayed twice a year since, so in June this year it will be our 10th visit. The cottage is fantastic and perfect for a relaxing break with lots of great walks, Keepins is really dog friendly they have welcomed my 9 1/2 stone boy with open arms. The cottage is right in the middle of the forest with the cows and Donkeys visiting the gate daily. We could not recommend the cottage more it is everything we need to escape from our normal busy life. Helen, Peter & Lil see you all soon.

We have stayed at Keepings twice now and will most certainly return. The cottage is in the lovely village of Norleywood with great walks from the front door. The owners who live next door are very welcoming and helpful, more like visiting old friends when you arrive. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and has a lovely enclosed garden.
A perfect place to relax and very dog friendly.
“We spent a week staying in Keepings Cottage, and it is beautiful, well equipped and the garden is 100% secure for dogs. We have 4 Springers, and it's lovely to find somewhere where the number of dogs is not restricted. There is a welcome basket for humans and dogs, and more goodies in the fridge too. The owners, Helen & Peter are on hand to make sure everything is OK and give helpful suggestions for walks and pubs , but don't intrude. Walks are in the doorstep, with Norley Wood itself just a quarter of a mile up the road, and lots of walks on the coast or in the New Forest. There are several dog friendly pubs very close by, with one only 15 minutes walk and others a short drive or a longer walk. The cottage is wonderful and comfortable. We would definitely recommend Keepings Cottage, as it is such a lovely characteristic Cottage and is so welcoming, and in an excellent location. We will be back this year!
This lovely chocolate box dog friendly cottage was perfect for our weeks holiday in The New Forest. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog and also for us to enjoy the summer evenings having cheese and biscuits with a bottle of wine on the patio. The inside was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Helen the owner was very helpful on advising us of good walking areas for our dog and good dog friendly pub and restaurants all of which made our holiday all the more enjoyable. Norley Wood Enclosure was an ideal woodland walk just up the road. It was a bonus to have the mother and foal donkey pass by the cottage most days for a stroke. We enjoyed the cottage and the setting so much we have already booked a short break this April.
Situated in the quiet village of Norleywood, Keepings is a lovely character cottage, ideally situated to explore the southern beauty of the New Forest. Lymington and Beaulieu are within easy reach, with numerous villages in between to explore, most of which have an excellent village pub to refresh the inner self.
If you enjoy peace and tranquillity, fresh air, country walks, cycling, and appreciate the company of a diverse range of wildlife, then this definitely the place for you.
The owners live next door, and make sure that all guests are extremely well looked after without being in any way intrusive.
Being in the enclosed part of the New Forest it is not unusual to wake up in the morning to be greeted by a friendly cow, horse or donkey at the garden gate.
The cottage is well equipped, clean, comfortable and dog friendly, we love it !
A lovely, thatched cottage with so much charming character. On a quiet lane with new donkeys and ponies walking by. It's in a stunning area close to so many great New Forest walks. We - and our cocker spaniel - were given a wonderful welcome by our hosts - they were great at helpful suggestions for walks and pubs to visit.
