I have been here about 8 times now in the last 12 months and each time we come we have always had lovely meals, today my Mum had the steak and she said it was lovely, I went for the burger with cheese and bacon and the burger was very tasty, my brother had the steak pudding and he too enjoyed it, today it was fairly busy, service was good, the staff are very friendly. Its a lovely pub, well worth a visit in my opinion.

two of us had the carvery on a sunday. the meat was overcooked and dry, the potatoes leathery not crispy, sprouts and green beans frozen. parsnips were good though and carrot and swede mash superb. Overall not good but it fills you up for a reasonable price. (Go instead to the Rose and Crown in Brockenhurst which has a vastly superior quality carvery. )Another of us had sweet and sour very poor. my daughter however had a ploughmans and this was the best - all looked fresh including the baguette - even if it was defrosted it was great. I would only come here if you need a lot os space for baby buggies for instance - the place seemed full of those!

staff friendly, busy, but dealt with without delay, carvery was between ok and good. for example meats were alittle overcooked but only a little, veg was good but spuds were just a bit tasteless. im being fussy but overall a worthy effort and a carvery that wont leave you hungry. a good choice of desserts and reasonable prices. tables not too close together and drinks arrived quickly. overall i would eat here again which is the telling factor.

We booked a table for 11 people today. As soon as you walk in you can feel the warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff were excellent, good choice of local ales and more importantly the food was great! Most of us had The Carvery, a great chef carving with a good sense of humour, plenty of hot vegetables and more than enough meat on the plate. The sweets were good too. All very good value, our 1st visit but not our last!
