Excellent draught beers from this Fullers pub. London pride always superb. "Happy hour" Mon - Thurs, until 7pm - sadly the only draught bitter on Happy Hour is Seafarers' which is Fullers' weak beer. As it is a Fullers' pub the drinks prices are high but wine is also good.

Gorgeous traditional English pub with open fire in winter.

Their shepherds' pie is ecstasy in a dish - absolutely superb. With peas, as it should be.

Always friendly service with appealing barmaids - as a pub should have.

We held an evening party at the Fish recently. The staff could not have been more helpful. The service was efficient, the food good, the welcome warm and nothing was too much trouble. Full marks and thank you to Ben, Nicky and Becky.

We recently had a large party there - it's a lovely traditional pub, the room was nicely laid up, the staff were delightful and the food excellent. Many thanks to Ben, Guy and their lovely staff.

We went here for a lunch and the pub was very quiet. The menu didn't have much choice, We decided to have the burgers which took forever to come seeing that there was only one other couple eating. When it did arrive the burger had blood coming out of it and it was promptly sent back, when it came back it was burnt and tasted of charcoal. We decided to have a sweet, and waiting for nearly half an hour, of crumble and rice pudding, the crumble was served in a very shallow dish and had no depth to it. The rice pudding arrived ten minutes later and was totally unedible as it wasn't cooked properly. We sent this back and didn't bother to order again as we didn't have all afternoon to wait for it. The staff were friendly but needless to say they didn't bother asking at the end if we had enjoyed our meals. The biggest waste of £46 I have ever spent, will never return to this place again and definitely would not recommend going there to eat. There are much better places in lymington to eat.

Booked to eat here on the last night of a weeks holiday as we have so enjoyed the food previously. As soon as we arrived the menu looked strange and I am convinced it has changed hands in last year. The menu was pretty ordinary and not helped by most of the specials being finished. t was a a Sunday of the bank holiday - surely you can cater for the numbers expected over a bank holiday and not run out of everything on Sunday evening? My partner had the mixed grill which was very poor and overlooked. my fish was quite nice as was my pudding but again his pudding was Eton mess and consisted of mainly meringue and cream the fruit was non-existent.
Staff were pleasant but we were used to great service and a real attention to the quality of the food which was sadly lacking on this visit. Either it has changed hands to become an average pub with food or we picked a bad night when the usual chef/owner was on holiday. It's a bit of a trek to walk up the the fisherman's rest and it needs to be worth it..
