My partner and I booked a two night stay over the bank holiday. It was our first trip to the hotel and to Lymington for that matter. When we arrived we pulled up outside the hotel and went into a beautiful building. We were greeted by two receptionists both very polite and friendly. They directed us round to the car park and got us checked in straight away. Our room was lovely we had direct access straight out into the beautiful surrounding gardens, the room was very light and airy with a spotlessly clean bathroom. We had nothing to complain about everything was perfect!! All staff were friendly yet professional and did anything they could to help. We dined in both the seafood and the bistro restaurant whilst staying. Both meals were delicious!!!! I had the most amazing fillet steak I have ever tasted!! Would recommend this hotel to everybody, it's well worth checking out!!

We were booked to stay on a Saturday night and arrived late afternoon. We were made to feel very welcome by the excellent reception staff. We were unsure of what to do in the town and they gave some great recommendations of the local pubs for the evening. Our room was a garden room which was light and airy with a fantastic bathroom. After a walk around the lovely small town of Lymington we returned to the hotel and enjoyed a cup of tea in the conservatory. The waiting staff were very knowledgeble of the products on offer and it was lovely to see loose leaf tea being served as I thought this was quite unusual. We were booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast package and so we decided to dine in the Bistro restaurant. The menu had a good variety of fresh produce and being a fish fan it was great to see so many local options on the menu. We were very pleased with the service and the fact that we were not rushed at all throughout dinner. Compliments to the chef who produced a wonderful meal and it was great to have the little treat of homemande fudge with our coffees at the end of the meal. After dinner we moved into the dry dock bar, a lovely small bar with an intimate atmosphere. It was so nice to see all of the guests chatting about thier days, something that I just don't see very often in the city.
We had a truly fantastic stay in this special small hotel and look forward to returning again soon.

My girlfriend booked a one night stay at Stanwell House. We stayed on a Sunday Getaway which include dinner, bed and breakfast. We arrived sunday afternoon and checked into room 16 a suite located at the back of the hotel - amazing! it had the biggest bed i have ever seen, a seperate sitting area and an up to date modern bathroom with seperate shower and bath. After checking in we sat in the hotels beautiful conservatory and had cocktails from the dry dock bar. We dined in the seafood restaurant with the bistro menu, both menus are served in one restaurant on a sunday. The food was sooooo good, compliments to the chef!!! The staff were great, made us feel so relaxed and welcomed. Will we return - without a doubt!

Room Tip: Suite 16!

MY husband booked a dinner & 1 night stay as a surprise for our second anniversary. When he book and explained why we were coming we received a room upgrade (to suite no. 1) The room was lovely with large floor length windows and a large private garden of our own, We had a bottle of champagne waiting on ice for us with the hotels compliment, even though there was a thunder storm that night we slept well as the bed was large in size and comfortable
The dinner, from start to finish took 2 and a half hours the food was great we had a 3 course meal with a bottle which was just over£100 but they did charge for the side bread which is normally included in the meal, so be a little careful with the extras because there are quite a lot of little extras, but that’s the only negative thing I would say.
We did have a lovely time and we will be going back.

Room Tip: Suite number 1 is at the back of the hotel.

We got a good deal for the space in between the bank holidays (£90 per night B&B). The hotel was lovely, the staff were all really friendly and professional and the location on the main high street in Lymington is perfect. We ate in the hotel the first night and the food was very good with some good cocktails to follow. On the second night went to the Ship Inn on the harbour which can definitely recommend.
The only thing we weren't aware of was that dogs are welcome in the hotel, not a real issue but if you don't want dogs around while you ate then you had to sit in the darker dining room rather than the lovely and sunny conservatory.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, staff and food.

We booked a one night stay at Stanwell House Hotel over the bank holiday and arrived to find we'd been upgraded to a suite overlooking the garden with a lovely terrace. The room was beautiful, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful (most notably Marilyn who gave us a great arrival) and although we didn't book the evening meal there the seafood restaurant smelt amazing! The breakfast was also lovely.
Overall a lovely hotel, highly recommened and I will definitely come back given half the chance!

The welcome was excellent, the public rooms and conservatory were lovely - what a shame it went slightly downhill after that.

First of all - be aware that parking is on the opposite side of the road at the back of the shops.

We had a garden terrace room - fab for the dog (who was made very welcome) but seats right outside our window where people were sat smoking and having a lovely time in the sun - and we heard every word!!

The whole room was very 'bland' - cream paint, cream 70s style wardrobe and dressing table and white bed linen....bathroom immaculate.

Food really let this establishment down - our amuse bouche from the chef was what can only be described as cauliflower blancmange, inedible. Worse was to come though with the crab veloute - bright pink puree served in a large soup bowl. My husband said his first mouthful made his stomach turn inside out - totally foul. Beef was gorgeous but lamb was tough. Don't forget to order potatoes or veg as these aren't included with the dish!
Breakfast: the sausage was hot and delicious but the rest of the breakfast had clearly waited for it - lukewarm with definite signs that it had been under the hotplate for a while.

This could have been so good......
