Spent a couple of days in this fabulous hotel. We were upgraded to a Suite due to a small electrical problem in our first room. Very lucky the room (2) was amazing. We dined in Seafood Restaurant which was excellent.

Five of us, three people and two well behaved labradors happened upon this very attractive hotel on Lymington's high street. It was a lovely day and we were invited to have lunch in the gardenat the rear of the hotel. This is a very comfortable and secluded little walled garden that seems to wind its way endlessly, providing charming little dining areas on different levels. It was quite busy but wonderfully relaxing.

The lunch menu offered quite a number of options each of which promised quite a lot by way of flavours and modern stylish cooking. We were certainly not at all disappointed. The food was clearly professionally and carefully prepared and quite delicious. Service was pleasant and professional, yet quite relaxed in line with the setting. We lingered much longer than intended and no doubt we will do again on our next visit.

Cannot comment on the hotel, but appearances were as promising as the restaurant. A surprisingly good experience and highly recommended.

Myself and the wife spent the weekend at Stanwell House, and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the whole experience was outstanding. The room blew my expectation out of the water, the standard of the room was excellent. The staff were friendly and could not do enough to help and offer us advice and information when asked for.

We recently stayed at the hotel as we were attending a wedding which was being held at the hotel. We had a wonderful wedding with wonderful food and excellent service from the staff.

The hotel is in the middle of the High Street, so a great location for exploring the town.

Our room was called "a harbour view bedroom" but the harbour was rather in the distance.

The room was well appointed, if a little small. The ensuite was very clean but again rather small.
I did find it surprising that on the very narrow landings the housekeeping team left vacuum cleaners and bags of what looked like laundry. I noticed this on Saturday morning when we arrived and were still there on Sunday morning.

The hotel has very limited parking which is not attached to the hotel, but behind some shops on the opposite side of the street. This was a problem when we arrived as there were no parking spaces left. We rang the hotel and they said that we could just block in the other cars as they were also wedding guests and if our car needed to be moved, the hotel receptionist would move it for us.

The hotel is a nice hotel, which is in a lovely location with lovely food and friendly staff. As mentioned above, there were a couple of negative issues, mainly the parking, however the good outweighed the bad.

We chose to stay at Stanwell House for two nights.
On arrival we were shown to our lovely Garden Room.
The first evening we dined in the restaurant. The room was a bit too dark we thought, however we enjoyed an excellent 3 course dinner. Service was first class at all times.
We often stay in Boutique Hotels around the country and high standards are par for the course.
Just a few minor, picky issues we noted.
My husbands martini glass had two chips on the rim, my espresso the next day also had a chip in the saucer.
We shared a cheese plate, the grapes served with it were well past their best. Should not have been served, very squashy and not fresh.
The conservatory is a lovely area, however staff and diners had a job to manoeuvre around.
Although the furniture is stylish, the chairs are very large and it's all a bit of a squash.
This review is far from negative, but given the calibre of this Hotel a little more attention to detail would be great,
All in all a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel in a lovely place. The room was nice, a garden room (11). The best bits of the hotel were the staff and the food. We had the Sunday night bed, dinner and breakfast deal. Was great value for money. The meal in the bistro restaurant was amazing, I had pig cheek to start and the tasting lamb for main. Was nothing short of out of this world, there were four of us and everyone's food was lovely. The breakfast was good too- buffet continental items and cooked to order items. Plenty to set you up for the day. Nothing was too much for the staff, we will return again.

We, five retired businessmen from Berkshire, still enjoy an occasional day out and our visit to Lymington was enhanced from the very start when we enjoyed a superb English breakfast, which we are not allowed at home, at the Stanwell House Hotel. The staff was most welcoming and a quick tour of the hotel showed a good bar and a very promising seafood restaurant. We liked the whole ambience of Stanwell House and could easily return with our better halves for a coastal break. Jack, Pangbourne, Berkshire.
