What a great find this hotel is.

After a busy and stressful time in the Big Smoke we needed a complete switch off from the normal day-to-day grind.

We checked in on Friday afternoon and relaxed in the bar before having a great meal. We had a great sleep and woke up totally fresh and chilled. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had and was a great start to the day (on both days). On a nice leisurely breakfast we explored the surrounding area - Lymington itself is a lovely town and the countryside is picturesque. After a day's exploring we were in need of a lovely dinner to round off the day and we weren't disappointed.

The staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly which, in my opinion, really makes this hotel stand out. We left the hotel feeling like we'd had a mini-holiday. A great way to spend the weekend.

We'll definitely be back, compliments to all concerned in the running of this lovely hotel.

We came to Stanwell house for a Mother's Day lunch. There was a big group of us and everyone enjoyed it. The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food and presentation is always excellent, everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the food. A big well done to the head chef and team!

My partner, dog and I stayed here for two nights in January2014. We stayed in room 2- acces to lovely garden. Although the hotel is in the main High Street we were not disturbed with noise late at night. The room was spacious and very well decorated, the double bed was very comfortable. Clean and no complaints from me- I'm very fussy:)
We had eaten in the SF restaurant ,SF and Bistro menu, and the food was just AMAZING! Plenty of choices - must recommend Duck !!!!. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We will be returning later in the year.
Thank You Stanwell House Hotel:)

A couple of weeks ago I booked a trip away to Lymington with my girlfriend, when I called to book the receptionist Jade could not have helped me more, as this was a really special trip for me as I was proposing to my girlfriend. On arrival at the hotel it look beautiful, reception checked us in and confirmed our dinner reservation for that evening. We were shown to our room which truly wow'd my girlfriend, we decided to order some champagne from room service. The room was well appointed with walk in shower and seperate bath, the bed we just could not resist but to just jump on it. After indulging in our champagne and getting ready for dinner, we went to enjoy some cocktails in the bar 'Drydock' all went down well. We were taken to our table and enjoyed a really fantastic meal, compliments to the chefs, we were both very impressed with the food and service and how nothing was too much trouble. After our delicious deserts it was my que to pop the question ! Breakfast the next morning there was I great choice to chose from and beautifully cooked. The whole trip, the hotel, the room and food and of course all the staff made it a 'truly memorable stay' oh yes and by the way she said YES !! We will definitely be returning and have recommended the hotel to our friends already.

Room Tip: A suite the yellow one I think it was room 1

Having stayed here once before, we knew what to expect....but it's even better now! On arrival we were upgraded to one of their lovely suites, very comfortable and with everything you would expect, and more! that made the stay so much more memorable. We arrived in the afternoon and tried the afternoon tea which was scrumptious. We then decided to have a walk along the sea wall to work up an appetite for a celebratory dinner. We met with friends who live near by in the bar where Mario mixed us one of his special cocktails. All of the staff are so friendly, and nothing seems too much trouble for them...and a special thank you to the receptionist for her very helpful advice on the best beach walks. Hope to be back in the summer!

We managed to escape for a night and re-visit stanwell house for a weekend break - it had been far too long! It was lovely to return and be greeted by a familiar face on reception - the lovely Marilyn, who always makes us feel so welcome!

We stayed in a georgian suite this time, room 34! The room is absolutely beautiful, decorated black and white, modern and clean.

We popped down to Wytes bar, a minutes walk from the hotel for a drink before dinner - a stylish addition to the hotel since we last stayed and we were not disapointed - the cocktails were amazing!

Dinner at the hotel was top notch as usual too - the dishes were beautifully presented and the textures and flavours are still making my mouth water now!

Thanks again Stanwells for a perfect, relaxing stay. We wont leave it as long next time!

Room Tip: If you want something really special, the suites are incredible

I had booked a night away at the Stanwell but due to very unfortunate circumstances was unable to attend. When I contacted the Hotel both Chloe & the proprietor Robert were extremely understanding and helpful. Their service and empathy were outstanding. If this is the sort of service they give to people who don't manage to get to the Hotel, I'd assume when you get there it must be a truly memorable break. I'd chosen this Hotel after reading other reviews and it is clear this is first class hotel with first class staff.
Thank you very much.
