The staff and management at Stanwell were fantastic. My partner and I stayed with our 4 month old and the team were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very nice and the bed was comfy. The food at the restaurant is great and worth a look. In terms of location it is right in the centre which makes everything just a stones throw away.

Junior's (14th) birthday on May Day Bank holiday and he wants a trip to see Granny in the Forest, but the usual camp sites are all booked up, so we decide to have a treat at a hotel for two nights. Stanwell House in Lymington High Street seemed friendly enough when we arrived. The manager was even on duty checking-in new arrivals and offered us a family room at a bargain price. There was a choice of restaurants for our evening meal, sea-food special or a more culinary one. So, of course Junior chooses the burger option over the sea food one, and even now rates the wonderful Lamb burger and chips he had that evening as the best he's ever tasted (even above MacWimpyKing!) Praise indeed from a fourteen year old!
What made it even more memorable was the breakfast where ShortPants (6) wanted porridge, which we assumed would be a no-no at 8.00am, but the same manager was on duty in the kitchen and whisked up the best porridge she's ever tasted and even had Golden Syrup (We saw him run to get it from the Tesco in the High Street opposite!)
Couldn't ask for better, or more friendly, service. The eggs Benedict that we had was equally wonderful.
Oh, and the rooms were pretty good too !

I arranged to send my parents-in-law to Stanwell House for a 3 night stay earlier this month to celebrate their joint 70thb birthdays.
Their feedback on the whole experience -' it was without doubt the best short break we can remember taking '.
Particular thanks to the owner, Robert Milton, for all his personal help with the arrangements for this stay, and to Marilyn who they singled out for particular praise during their stay.
My out-laws are not always easy to please, so well done Stanwell for looking after them so well - I look forward to trying it myself.

I stayed overnight with my wife and found the hotel to be a lovely relaxing venue. The rooms were immaculate and the service top notch.

If that was not enough thier seafood restaurant was superb. My congratulations to the Management

I booked this hotel last weekend through the internet not knowing anything about it, wow i've never experienced anything like it. My boyfriend had a gig in the most famous club in Bournemouth, and this was the perfect venue to chill out after a hard night. We arrived late at night and the night porter David welcomed us with an A* customer service, he was very efficient and respected that we were tired. We woke up the next morning to a spectacular breakfast of continental and local food, -all fresh and beautifully presented. We spent our day in the area discovering the New Forest and the sailing capital of the UK, -which was amazing. Coming back in the evening we booked a table in the seafood restaurant to try the local produce, the experience exceeded our high expectations as we've been living abroad in the past dining in the most highly rated restaurants, the seafood at Stanwell was up with the top. All the staff were trained to the highest level, and i was particularly impressed with the ability of the foreign staff who all went the extra mile to please us, paying every attention to detail. The suite room 16 was outstanding, with a fresh refurbishment of up to 5 red star standard, again, no word could describe the perfection!!! Finally, on check out we had the pleasure to meet the owners, Robert and Tor, who began to tell us about the launch party of their cocktail bar which my boyfriend would be more than pleased to return and play an evening. We will definately return to Stanwell in the future.
