Description: We live in a lively and quintessentially British coastal town - it's the perfect home for The Angel & Blue Pig.Our name stands for what we believe in; tradition with a touch of intrigue. Until most recently the pub was called 'The Angel' - however since our refurbishment we have adopted the 'blue pig' to symbolise the changes we have made, which we hope enhance what we already had at The Angel. Our pub has been around (in one form or another) since the 13th Century offering accommodation for the weary traveller. Fast forward a few hundred years, our desire is similar; to offer a comfortable bed, homecooked food and a great range of drinks to all who visit us.Come and discover what we stand for, and enjoy a pint or two.

We went here as a foursome for my brother's birthday.

The starters were all good, with two asparagus, andtwo mussels

The main's varied. The ribeye was very good, but expensive asby adding onion rings, it cost over £25.the swordfish good, but quite small portions, so expensive. The chicken dish was not enjoyed

We had intended to have lunch and dinner here both days but felt we could better value fir money, which we did. I was torn between a mark of 3 or 4, but as the steak was. Wry good, despite its price I went for 4

A great town centre pub/restaurant, with emphasis on a meaty menu! They take their steaks seriously and they do it very well! Good quality meat, very well cooked and presented, and all washed down with a cheeky bottle of red, served at the correct temperature.

Stylish surroundings and polite efficient staff. All good stuff!

We'll visit again...

Thank you for taking the time to leave this kind review. We are very proud of our steaks and maintain that you haven't tried a proper steak until you've had one of ours from our Josper oven - cooked in a 400 degree coal oven leaving the steak with that charcoal taste whilst still being juicy and full of flavour as it should be. We would definitely reccomend a bottle of our Argentinian Malbec to accompany your amazing steak. We very much look forward to your next visit.

Having eaten in the Angel and Blue Pig in 2013 we were looking forward to repeating the experience.

Our first visit this time was on the evening of Father's Day and the pub and restaurant were very busy, so put the wait for food down to that.

Our second visit was mid week and on a lovely evening. Unfortunately we could not eat outside, I guess do to a lack of staff. We duly went to the restaurant and ordered food. We were underwhelmed by both the service and the quality/value for money of the food.

A plate of luke warm chips were delivered to the table without the accompanying meals. These were taken away and eventually the meals arrived. Caesar salad was lacking dressing and the waitress was asked if she could bring some more to the table. Instead of Caesar dressing it was apple and honey.

Not a good experience.

The pub is lovely, but this time the food was a real disappointment.

Popped in for lunch with my sister and our parents. Staff very welcoming and efficient, but the food disappointing. This was our second visit as a group and I have also visited with my husband.

Unfortunately the food did not live up to our first visit. Even though two of us ordered the same food as our previous visit, it was not remotely the same, we thought we had been given something different by mistake, apparently not!

Sadly we won't be returning
