We have eaten here several times when visiting Lymington, eating in and take away and the food is the perfect traditional quay side fish & chips :-)

Lousy Chips. "Earthy" tasting potatoes used.
Whole family disappointed. Went to the bin.
What is the point of a Chippy that can't make a decent chip?
I suppose the point is a short term view of profit from using a cheap, unsuitable potato variety. Identical to the “Tres Bon” Chip shop at Milford Road, Pennington. Are they the same business?
Friendly service.....but what is the point if they can't cook a chip?
We live in Lymington.... but now we have to go to Ashley's New Milton (or better yet Captain Cod @ Christchurch) for good chips.
The owners should speak to the Captain Cod @ Christchurch to learn the basics of their profession.
Better still go and buy some there & learn.

We took over this shop in March and have made many improvements. It was in a very poor state and reputation for good food non-existent and we have come a long way in a few months. But we are still learning and one lesson this year was that the British potatoes throughout May to early June are very poor quality. We did our best to source better without any success. But that is a lesson learned. We can assure you that we use the best ingredients we can regardless of cost and impact on the profit margin. Our cod costs us around 40% more than the cod used by the previous owner. If at any time in the future you have a similar experience please, please return the food and get a refund. Seeing the issue is the only way we an proactively address any issue. We hope you return and enjoy the food quality that most of our customers say they enjoy

We’ve visited this chip shop several times after days out in Lymington. We recently popped in to find that there have been some extensive changes since our last trip - all for the better!

The new look is very smart and the food was a really nice surprise. The fish was fresh and tasty, and the chips were a big improvement on the previous fare. We will have to treat ourselves again after our next seaside walk. Happy to recommend.

We travel from Farnborough to Lymington a couple of times a year to enjoy fish and chips at this restaurant. We went there again yesterday and were surprised to see that the restaurant has been refurbished and is looking very smart with new crockery etc. We were told that new owners took over in March and we were a bit worried that the food might have changed too, pleased to say that the fish and chips were as good as ever:) Cod was delicious and succulent, batter was light and crispy and chips were great.
Service was good with friendly waitresses, we are happy to travel to enjoy this restaurant as its the best fish and chips we've tasted:)
