“Fabulous stay, did not disappoint”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

We stayed at the Angel and Blue Pig for one evening last week, just ahead of the Easter bank holiday. The service we received was of the very highest standard throughout. The room was beautifully furnished and a great size for 2 adults and a child. The location is obviously ideal for visiting shops, tea rooms and the harbour. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good, service very friendly and efficient. All of the staff we encountered were very warm and genuine - we had a really great stay and will definitely look to return for longer in the summer.

Room Tip: High street location means front views are of the pretty high street but obviously means some low le...

A lovely hotel. Friendly efficient staff. Great food. Room lovely though bathroom a bit small. Very comfortable bed and nice little extras in room like shortbread. I would definitely go back. Location was excellent for shopping and for the new forest.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have the noise from the street but we didn't mind this as it was interesting...

We stayed for a weekend at the beginning of April following a previous stay at this traditional pub/hotel after falling for it some years ago, and were not disappointed.

The hotel has its own very close/convenient and secure (coded gate) car-park, in which we found a space easily.

Following a recent refurbishment, this popular hotel has just gone from strength to strength. The attention to detail in the restyling of the establishment is quite remarkable - you really feel like you are are being spoiled! Room decor is quirky and stylish with a real sense of quality. The room was spotless. Guest freebies are generous - our room included a range of teas/good quality coffee (cafetiere), hot chocolate, luxury chocolates, shortbreads and plenty of milk!

The bar area can get quite busy at lunchtime, so its worth allowing some time to get yourself a table if you plan on eating during the day. We reserved a table for the evening, whilst booking, and were glad we did, as the restaurant is also incredibly popular. We highly recommend the duck skewer starter.

The ambience is just perfect, in both the bar and restaurant areas - the proprietors have got this just right; we even had live jazz music playing throughout lunch!

The only downside is that a full english breakfast is not included in the price of the room, only a continental one. This would have to be pre-booked at an additional cost. We think they've missed a trick here, as i noticed quite a few guests looking longingly at our full plates in the morning!

We cannot wait to return to this absolute gem of a find!

Room Tip: Dont choose a room overlooking the High Street if staying on a Fri night, as the market stallholders...

Six of us went to the Angel and Blue Pig for lunch. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a most pleasant window table overlooking the rear courtyard. I had not been to the Angel since before their makeover. What an improvement! The decorations are in keeping with this old coaching inn and the bar area is extremely comfortable. The menu was interesting and the food was well presented and very tasty. The wine list is good and some of us particularly enjoyed their own beer brewed for them by our local Ringwood Brewery. The staff were friendly and efficient. We could not have had a better lunch and are looking forward to another visit.

We called in for a late morning snack in this attractive pub-with-rooms in the main street in Lymington. Despite there being only a couple of other tables occupied, the service was extremely slow, though a waiter had time to chat to other people. There were newspapers to read while we waited. The food, when it came was beautifully cooked, though a little mean with the portions. We were given a card that offered a drink at the bar if you stayed there three times and I think they look after returning customers and local residents better than going all out to make an impression on newcomers. We shall return though and enjoy a stay there next time.

Short break out of season in Lymington. The hotel is in the middle of this lovely town in the New Forest. There is free parking behind. You can walk out to the end of the river and all the way to Hurst Castle with views of the solent and past the needles. The town is delightfully lacking in big high street names and mainly small lndependent and therefore unique shopping and eating. The hotel is very comfortable ad great value for money. The bonus was the dinner at the hotel which was the best meal we have ever eaten in Lymington. The menu is full of home made dishes and so tasty. Would we recommend this hotel, well we will be returning!

Room Tip: Stay at the back for total peace but the front for a sunny room with views of the street.

What a lovely experience two nights at the Angel & Blue pig.
Friendly efficient staff, lovely comfortable stylish rooms. fantastic food. Comfortable bar with open fire. All you need for a short break. We will go again can't wait!!

Only downside but this did not spoil our enjoyment. We had a poor shower in our room. A Nespresso coffee machine in the bedroom and a costa style coffee machine for breakfast. would be an added bonus we didn't like the filter coffee on offer I'm afraid. The noise others have pointed out on the High street was of no concern and shouldn't be if you have chosen this location..

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a power shower and if you have a high street room take ear plugs.
