Description: The Monkey House is one of the last standing free houses in the picturesque seaside town of Lymington. A family run restaurant bringing all the elements of the classic British pub which everyone can enjoy; Home cooked food; Log fires and excellent service. Iain, Ruth, Georgia and Sophie would like to welcome you with open arms, whether it's for a quick bite to eat, a special occasion or maybe just even to socialise with some of the colourful personalities who reside in this charming town. The extremely talented head chef and his team prepare daily specials that will definitely tickle your taste buds. Not to mention Britain's favourite: the roast dinner every Sunday. To complement the 'bistro chic', relaxed atmosphere, the monkey house will be regularly hosting live musicians from around the local area. Anything from vintage classics to up and coming contemporary artists destined for the stars! The Robertson family will be delighted to see you, please come and see what they have to offer!

Three generations of my family all found food to enjoy at the Monkey house. The food was all cooked from scratch. The menu is not long, but offers a mix of standards (burger and chips, fish and chips) but all cooked well and presented with flair. The specials were delicious. The men enjoyed the local beers on tap. The service was friendly and efficient.
We sat in the airy room. As it is an old building, it is not wheelchair accessible, but I could cope with the few, unavoidable, small steps and it did have a disabled toilet. I have very restricted mobility and really appreciate places trying to accommodate mobility issues.
Even though it was a Monday evening when we visited, there was a friendly atmosphere and plenty of others enjoying themselves.

Lovely food, lovely staff, the owner was very friendly and accommodating. We sat outside which is right by the main road, however it wasn't a problem.

Just like the others reports. This is a really good gastro pub. Excellent friendly and efficient staff, sensible prices, excellent chef. I wish I had a similar pub near me. It's also very adjacent to excellent top quality B&B

We really enjoy the ambience of this newly re-opened venue along with efficient friendly and very welcoming staff. We have eaten here several times and the food is always excellent and very good value. My husband in particular, loves the steak which is always a very generous portion and of excellent quality. I'm a non meat eater but the landlord always tries to offer something different and is happy to "think outside the box" We have also visited with several sets of friends and family and each time the experience has been a very good one. Long may it continue!
