Our second visit in as many nights, we enjoyed another excellent meal overlooking the bay. An ever watchful proprietor greets diners at the door and makes for a very attentive host. His staff are warm and friendly and this is clearly a family business.

The dinning room is a hubbub alive with the chatter of contented diners. Tables of 8 & 12 sit alongside twos and fours and laughter rings out in the air.

A busy, professional and well run kitchen visible through a huge plate glass window is as spotlessly clean as the glass that partitions it from its diners. Watching the chefs work amid the shining stainless steel and hot coals is a joy in of itself.

And if people watching the chefs isn't your bag, the owners son is an engaging and entertaining flirt with tables of young ladies. All in good humour and no harm intended or appears to have been taken.

Succulent chicken, fish, and lamb dishes pour out of the kitchen at speed alongside hot freshly baked, really excellent bread. The selection of food is good - vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diners aren't disappointed.

Excellent Turkish bottled beer is available. As is a range of cocktails, the strength and quality of which varies dependent on who makes them.

Do try the coffee. Good Turkish coffee is a joy and the coffee here is authentic and really good.

It wasn't the easiest matter to get reservations at Shish over the bank holiday weekend: it's that popular and rightly so. My wife and I have been to Turkey and have an idea of how magnificent Turkish food can be. Shish didn't disappoint: freshly baked bread was served at our table, excellent hummus was a perfect accompaniment. My wife had slow cooked lamb: tender to the point that it was falling off the bone, I had pide (like pizza but not really). All of it was delicious and accompanied by a cold Turkish lager. Afterwards the Turkish coffee was a great way to finish the meal. Highly recommended.

After really wanting to try this new restaurant we were disappointed to be told over the phone that the restaurant was fully booked for both last night and tonight , but we were going to walking into town anyway so decided to pop in and try anyway - so glad we did as we were greeted by a mature gentleman who immediately found us a table and seated us within minutes.

Our server was a young man who was attentive and fairly knowledgeable about the menu and soon brought us our drinks and starters.

We were not rushed but if needed someone was soon on hand to assist.

The food was excellent quality and had a super freshness about it.

We will return. Not too expensive, good quality for the price.

Down side is that the restaurant in upstairs and we will be unable to take some close family members as they will not be able to get up to the restaurant level.

We came here on our second night in Lowestoft and asked for a table on the terrace. The staff were amazing and the food incredible. We have eaten in lots of Turkish restaurants all over the world and this one was truly wonderful. The venue is great and each dish we ordered from the cold meze to the shish to the mussaka was well prepared and incredibly tasty. The salads and breads accompanying the dishes were so yummy a well.
Try this place. I doubt very much you will be left disappointed. Thanks for a lovely meal and we will definitely be back before we leave for home.
