The spectacular centrepiece of Africa Alive!, our "Plains of Africa" paddock, is the perfect place to spot 5 species of African savannah animals, including our graceful giraffe and heavyweight rhinos. Enjoy a bird's eye view of our magnificent lions from "Lookout Lodge", and visit "Lemur Encounters", which gives you the chance to get incredibly close to our ring-tailed lemurs as you walk through their enclosure! Bird lovers can also enjoy spotting native species from our new "Wader's Lake Boardwalk". Discover some amazing facts about our animals during our exciting feeding talks and seasonal Bird of Prey displays. Climb aboard the free Safari Roadtrain for an entertaining journey around the Park. Look, learn and play in our fun-packed Discovery Centre and meet some of our smaller residents at the animal encounter sessions. It's the second time we have visited here, the last time a couple of years ago. It is a great day out. Very clean and tidy. Animals well cared for and staff very helpful and friendly. Staff giving the animal talks were very knowledgable. We watched a birds of prey display which was entertaining and informative. The African dancers display was very good and involved the watching crowd. You can spend all day here and not get bored.

The only negative was the queue to get in. It took 20 minutes but it was worth it. Staff brought animals along the queue to keep people entertained. The site is large so at no point did it feel overcrowded.

Thought the £15 charge per person for a jeep safari ride was very expensive so we didn't do this but Overall a good day out.

We took two of our Grandhildren here for a day out and had a very enjoyable visit. There is plenty of parking in a field just a few minutes walk to the entrance (where there are closer parking spaces for those with a disabled parking permit.) If you need to return to your car after admission just stamp your hand with the park stamp available at the exit gate.
Take advantage of the free Safari Roadtrain ride around the park (situated near the Limpopo restaurant) as soon as possible after entry as it does help to make sense of their map and gives you an idea how large the place actually is. The children enjoyed completing their animal Passport challenge to receive their choice of animal on a ribboned medal - its a good way of encouraging children to walk around to find them. Our favourite areas were the Plains of Africa and Farmyard Corner with it's Cow model where the Granddaughters practised milking umpteen pints of "milk" out of it - the Jungle Drums hut was well used by them too: small side items but a big hit with many of the kids there!
Take time to do the circular walk around the field area where the Ankole Cattle are situated also the Woodland walk near the Meerkat area. Various animal talks by friendly Staff are advertised but our grandchildren were much more interested in the superb outdoor and indoor playareas and didn't want to leave to return home when it was time to go - that's a recommendation in itself after being there for 6 hours!
We did have a voucher for a free childs entry - this has to be used at the gate with 2 adults paying full price admission and cannot be used to pre-book the discounted price tickets on-line but even despite this it did save us a fair amount so look out for these locally. The Park is quite a relaxing day out - obviously its not got the full range of animals like Colchester Zoo but I thought that it had a more intimate feel and made for a super ful packed day out - the grandchildren slept all the way home!

We visited Africa Alive as the children nagged. Quite pricey but we knew this beforehand and used our tesco clubcard vouchers. Was able to get close to the animals, but a long walk round be prepared for moaning about legs and feet aching. We used the restaurant near the arena for lunch and it was amazing, hand rolled pizzas were delicious, plenty of tuna on the jacket, homemade coleslaw, definately surprised as we presumed the food would be below par but what you expect from an attraction. Not badly priced either. The animal talks and feeding were good and staff were friendly.

+ A considerable variety of animals.
+ A quiz to keep the youngsters engaged.
+ Refreshments reasonably priced.
+ Safari experience enjoyed.
+ Friendly and helpful staff

- baby changing facilities too limited

With only one minor point which didn't spoil our day, I'd recommend this venue.
