Visited here earlier in the month and was delighted with what I found. The relatively small museum was hosting a large/young school group (clearly enjoying themselves) when I arrived, and I found the place really well presented and interesting. Initially thought from the admission price and apparent size (ground floor only) it would be a bit simple/plain, but the opposite was true: a really well presented & illustrated narrative of many aspects of the place, people and maritime activites (mostly) of the past. I spent 1.5hrs there and could have spent another half hour.

Don't miss out on the Video Booth (tucked away to one side with a handful of seats in it) where, from memory, there were half a dozen 5-10 minute films giving a greater insight into the maritime life of Lowestoft.

Easy to find, and simple to park (free) either on the road outside, or in the large public carpark 150m up the road, off the roundabout.

Is only open from Easter to October.
