“Made to feel very welcome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

From the off the lady at reception made us feel very welcome, nothing was to much trouble, she also told us about the local attractions and discounts we could get. We booked 4 nights but was not ready to come home and was able to stay an extra night for just £25. There was only a few things that needed a bit of attention. One being when we arrived the table was not clean and floor needed a sweep, also could do with a toilet brush and a tea towel in the vilas. Would definitely stay again and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A great little holiday park full of nice clean homes - I think most of them are residential, with just a few bring rented out to holiday makers. This means the park is quiet and maintained well.
A nice outdoor pool which the kids loved , with a small gym next door.
We ate in the restaurant one night which was pretty good, and a band played one evening, though the bar was fairly quiet.
You can walk down to the beach now (it was closed due to cliff landslides) and the beach is very quiet and nice, though not as nice or exciting for the kids as the better sand beaches of Lowestoft.
The staff were fantastic.
Would we return, definitely.

We took the family and relations to this park as a last minute holiday break. It was the cheapest deal we found in the area we wanted. Was a bit doubtful if it was going to be ok, but when we arrived we all was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it looked.
Based on the cliffs of Corton (luckily not right on the edge), the sea was right infront of all the property's and it was a lovely view. When we checked into our holiday house ( most of the property's there are 2 storey houses) we were surprised at how spacious and clean the house was. Our relatives were a few houses down from us, and had a villa plus house, which we didn't actually think had more room than ours. There house was nicer than ours, brown leather settees, oak table, but both were clean and tidy with comfortable furniture which was well looked after. Next was to tour the holiday park. Restaurant was a fair size, although not near the size of a Haven or Park holidays park restaurant, and i would like to see how it would seat a packed holiday park. But it was clean, tidy with nice furniture. The evening entertainment is mainly singers, but when we went there was only about 10 of us there. There is a putting green there, nothing spectacular, but all our kids liked it. There a good sized swimming pool, but its outside so it wouldn't be any use on a rainy day. On site there is a gym, hair dressers also, which we didn't use. Across from the park there are a Chinese , and a nice pub, with a lovely one further down the road , the both serve lovely food.
There was some down sides. Although the scenery of the sea front was nice, it wasn't the actually beach. There was no access to the beach part as the cliffs had a problem with landslides. There is a walkway you can walk round but take that at your own risk, it had previously been shut for a few months due a landslide because of the cliffs sinking into the sea. If you want to go onto the beach , you have to go to either Hopton, or Lowestoft, which are the nearest. Also the village store isn't that great. Very small with limited stuff , so take your own things if you can. There is nothing to do in Corton, so for things to do for the kids, Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth are the places to go, but by car.
All in all it was a nice place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodation was clean and tidy and very comfortable. If you want direct access to beaches without a car journey, then this isn't for you as with stuff for the kids.

Room Tip: Our relatives had a villa plus house. This had a slightly larger kitchen but mainly seemed a more up...

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the lady on reception. There was no queuing to get the keys to our villa, which was great. Plenty of parking. First impressions of the villa were great, lovely decking and balcony to the front of the property. Inside was even better. The villa was immaculate and had everything you could need (even a washing machine which I found handy to keep the washing down - nothing worse that getting home from your holiday with a shed load of washing).

We had a large TV in the lounge and there was also a fair sized TV in the master bedroom. Beds were really comfy and modern. The only downside with the bedrooms is the blinds which let lots of light in as soon as the sun's up (could have done with curtains), but this was just a minor problem.

The site itself was very quiet which suited myself and my parents really well, not so good for my teenage children though. Could do with a little more to entertain teenagers, although to be honest we were out and about most of the time so didn't bother us too much.

There is a hairdressers/nail place on site. Although we didn't use the hairdressers, we did use the nail bar (my daughter had lovely gel nails done at a very good price). The people working there were very friendly.

There is a restaurant on the site. We had meals here a couple of times which were tasty, but must admist we were a little put off as the food was served on a wooden plate! We tended to either cook ourselves or go off the site for food. There is a lovely pub/restaurant just up the road, which serves freshly cooked food (The Corton Inn), which is well worth a vist.

The site is very well situated for visiting other places like Corton, Great Yarmouth, Pleasure Wood Hills etc. So made an ideal base.

All in all we had a great holiday at Waterside, and would definately return again. In fact my Mum and Dad are thinking of returning later in the year.

Room Tip: We had villa 24 which was really modern and really clean.

We booked for a 1 week stay at the beginning of July, the villa was very nice and had everything we needed. On the first night we couldn't get any hot water and as the reception closed at 5pm we had to wait until the next morning and was sorted within an hour of them being informed. The only criticism we have is that the on site club was very quiet, we only went there on the first night and only us in, we were told none of the beer pumps were on and was charged extortionate prices for beer in a can so instead we went to the pub across the road. All in all a nice place to stay but very quiet in the evenings.
