I know I have written quite a few reviews, and may have said this before, but this hotel is near enough perfect. It is located in serene countryside close to Oulton Broad. The rooms are so comfy; the bed gave me the best night sleep in a long time, which was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and gave us such a warm welcome. I loved the relaxing bar in the conservatory and the breakfast was perfect home-cooked food. My only disappointment was the evening meal menu; you can choose between the restaurant or bar menus which gives you choice depending on what you want, but the food in the restaurant seemed uninteresting. Instead, we chose the bar menu which was great, but this didn't have the ambience of the restaurant. Apart from that little moan, we found not much to find wrong with this hotel as it is just something really special. We will be returning some time soon!

First class facilities however managing staff could have looked more presentable. Obviously aiming for a high standard however the suit of the manager could use a dry clean.
Starters were lovely and filling - homemade bread was a lovely touch. Main course of roast beef was nice, but the vegetables were not timed to arrive altogether. Some serving choices seemed time consuming for a large party, such as the individual horseradish serving - could be rethought. Desserts were delicious.
Overall, will definitely return however some finesse would make this dining experience much more enjoyable, especially for a large number of diners.

We used to stay at this place years ago, but it was always a bit prissy, and over time it got a bit tatty.

Having to stay in town again, we were pleased to see it had hanged hands. The location was always good, and now the rooms have been refurbished and the staff have been equipped with 20th century attitudes.

Breakfast started at 08:30 on Sunday morning, which was a bit late for us, but the meal itself was good, as was the service.

The title says it all really. Don't be put off by the dusty approach road. Location and atmosphere really very good. The Sunday lunch represented excellent value for money, wasn't piled high but the quality was there. Horseradish had a real kick which spiced up the sirloin which comes as 'medium' - no choice if you want it 'pink'. Staff were friendly & efficient. Plenty of personal space and not crowded. Lovely timbered dining room.

myself, husband and daughter stayed at this beautiful venue this weekend, we had a family room and it was one of the most spacious family rooms we have stayed in, nice lounge area and a very good size bathroom which is one of areas i particularly look for. it was clean and tidy. our evening meal was served and delivered in a very professional manner, the staff very attentive and the food was exceptional.
i would most definately be back and in the summer looking forward to having an enjoyable lunch sitting outside in their beautiful gardens.
a must to go and visit.

I have stayed here two weeks in a row now with work, and I would recommend this for business and for leisure. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is very pleasant and has been refurbished to a very high standard. The food is excellent! The grounds are very nice and it is great to have breakfast in the oak beamed conservatory looking out onto the stream and cut grass lawns.

Invited out for a special dinner. Food choices very good but no consideration for gluten free guest. There seemed a certain lack of flexibility with the menus e.g. bar food of steak and salad not allowed in the restaurant, waitress clearly wasn't interested in my friend telling her she wanted to cut back on the carbs. Food was delicious and the dining room beautiful but a little chilly - we all kept our jackets on.
The new Eve's Bar is beautiful and I would definitely go back there.

Room Tip: Can't comment as we were only there for the restaurant and didn't stay the night.
