We tried the hotel restaurant as it was near the self catering apartment we were staying in for the week.
The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent - they have a daily special menu which is very reasonable and the roast dinners were lovely. If you want vegetables check that your meal does come with these as sometimes it does not sate this on the menu. but if you ask they will bring them and we were not charged any extra.
Lovely surroundings, very clean and if you can bag a window seat - you get an excellent sea view. Will defo be going back there again next time we are in the area.

We have just had a two night weekend stay at this hotel and overall we were very pleased. The location is superb. Just a short walk from the beach and putting green and within easy walking distance of the town centre. This is probably one of the quietest large hotels we have ever stayed in. Bearing in mind there was a wedding reception on the Saturday night we had no noise at all and even though our room overlooked the main road we didn't have a problem.
It is a very tastefully decorated hotel with lovely well kept gardens where you can sit with your drink and steps leading up to the seafront. The room itself was a really good size and the bed clean and comfortable. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were provided on the hospitality tray.
The bathroom was huge and nice and bright. Unfortunately it was also the only source of disappointment for us owing to the fact that our toilet kept backing up and we were struggling to use it. We did report it on our way out in the evening and on our return somebody had been up to have a look but the problem was still there. On checkout the following morning we reported it again so hopefully the next guests didn't have the same problem.
All the staff were very friendly and efficient, both in the bar and at breakfast which was very nice with a wide choice. The dining room has stunning sea views. The bar was well stocked and very reasonably priced.
We had gone through KGB deals which meant that this was superb value for money. Would we have paid the full normal amount? Possibly but I think in that case we would have asked for another room because of the toilet problems.
An excellent place to stay which we would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea have stunning views

We stayed just one night at the hotel. The welcome was pleasant and freindly. She was obviously very busy before we arrived and was most apologetic she was not at reception when we arrived.

The room itself was a little dated but fine. The bed was very comfortable and on the whole the room was immaculate. The bathroom was really very small compared to the size of the generous bedroom but again, very clean. The free toilleteries were an added bonus and very good quality!
The walls appear quite thin as when other guests were returning to their rooms late in the evening I could hear every word they said. Some guests were just plain rude by shouting down the corridor at midnight but this was no fault of the hotel. But this is my only negative comment that if you go to bed early like we did then bring earplugs.
Breakffast was good and plentiful. I am really fussy about the tea I drink and was pleasantly surprised that the tea served was above usual hotel standards.
On the whole, I would return but may pay extra for a sea view room as this may emhance the sea-side experience as the hotel location and outlook is superb.

Stayed for a couple of nights, good location, really helpful staff and the room was large and well appointed with a great view of the beach. Bathroom was very large and all immaculately clean.
The dissapointment was the restaurant.....the tables were sticky, no table cloths, the food was very basic and mostly overcooked, it really spoiled what is a very nice hotel.

I went with a friend for a two night stay on a KGB deal. I am still getting over the value! It would have cost at least double in London. The sea view was worth paying a little extra for and to be facing East in the summer is awesome...but if you want a lie-in the cutains are thick enough, don't worry. The lift was out of order while we were there and that meant a steep climb to our third floor bedroom, but the staff could not have been kinder and willingly took our luggage up for us. The manager is friendly and fair; it shows in the way all the staff seem relaxed and happy to be working there. Yes, the colours are a bit old and the look is less than grand, but I wouldn't want the "corporate" look if that meant trading in what feels like a very happy and fair family-run business. A rare find these days. The restaurant was excellent; not fancy but very good quality and all served in an unhurried and relaxed atmosphere, all at such reasonable prices too!

Room Tip: Consider a sea view as pretty essential; other aspects are not interesting although if you want afte...
