“GR8 VALUE GOOD CHOICE”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

Yes recommend this place GR8 value for money, lots of choices, also have a very good specials board. Been here lots of times & will be going back. Its not easy to find as its in a little side road Surrey St. opposite the side of Nat West Bank, also has a staircase with no wheelchair access :-( but highly recommended for the able bodied

“Best of British”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

If you want good quality typically British food then this is the place for you. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere add to this little gem. You can order from the menu, from the daily specials or simply ask if you want something that doesn't appear and I'm sure they will oblige if they can, they are simply that sort of place.

Lovely freshly prepared food, served piping hot, what more could anyone want.

“Some of the worst food you could not imagine in your worst nightmare”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

I have eaten here dozens of times, taken by elderly friends.

The food is truly ghastly: overcooked vegetables and what appear to be tinned peas (even those overcooked), catering pack "roast" meats as thin as the pages of a bible, urine gravy and roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings which manage to be burnt and undercooked at the same time. I do not expect Michelin Stars at a place like this - but good home cooking. This is quite the worst food I have ever encountered in a place that keeps going. Dismal, nasty food.
