“What excellent value for money”
Reviewed 29 December 2013 via mobile

We came here on a 3 night break the wkend after xmas and we are having a lovely time we had booked the wkend before xmas but pontins had to change us to this wkend and as we had booked 2 rooms they gave us 8 cans of lager a bottle of wine big box of milk tray a jar of coffee tea bags and bottle of milk per room a very good deal we thought. We booked club appartments which were clean warm and all we could want had interconecting doors. We were half board and the food in the restaurant was very good with plenty of salad at least 2 choice of main like fish and chips or gammon steak etc always jacket potatoes which were nice. On the sat night the tables had all been decorated and a full xmas dinner was given the roast turkey and all the trimmings was excellent and baked salmon and a nut roast alternative. They had happy hr in the bars from 11am till 7am house spirits £1.50 glass wine £1.90 pint of carlsburg £2.30 at a holiday park like this we thought was excellent. Entertainment was good always something going on all day bingo seems 2 be popular with the guests then later in the eve a good act was on like britains got talent acts etc and disco till late. There is snooker table tennis darts golf crazy golf bowls swimming crazy golf etc all free. All in all we consider this place excellent value for money and britania hotels who are investing on an on going basis deserve to do well here how they do it all for the money we payed £89 adult inc food is just excellent value and i wish you well for the future

I've been to Pontins a few times and think its a wonderful place here for festive filler and think its ridiculous what people moan about. What are you expecting for the money you pay. The ritz. Entertainment is great and Bluecoats are amazing and friendly the accommodation is standard but clean. And food is great. Go and make your own mind up and not listen to the pettiness of others. It's your holiday not theres

I spent the Christmas period 23rd-27th here with my family and partner. The chalet was clean and tidy very basic but everything you need for 4 nights. Bathroom shower needs an update. The Christmas programme had a lot for the children. The entertainment manager Robert was camp and fun. The evening entertainment was a little boring, though Annie was very good on the keyboard. Me and my partner went on the ramble walk which I would recommend. The food and canteen was great breakfast and dinner was lovely. There was no sky sports which was a big disappointment for me and my brother in law and the swimming pool broke down half way through the week. The blue coats are soo good with the children and they do work very hard. The blue coats deserve a pay rise as they earn below min wage, though they do have accommodation on site but they seem to work 16 hour days, because they were soo helpful and there whenever you needed them. Close by is Pizza Hut, mc Donald's and morrisons which is about 10 min walk. I would recommend staying here in the summer when the weather is warmer.

Room Tip: visit when the weather is warmer

I have just returned from this place, although I have been many times before the service and accommadation was appalling, after queuing for over an hour for keys, we eventually got to our chalet which clearly had not been cleaned. The smell was unbearable there was condensation running down the walls and there was mould everywhere the floor was soaking wet and the toilet was so badly stained you couldn't see the bottom. At 2am we were striping the bed as it had not been changed from the previous occupants I tried to change rooms but was informed there were non available they clearly just could not cope had it not been a special weekend with friends I would have gone back home however the entertainment was very good

Room Tip: Make sure it has been cleaned

Very large and busy camp. Chalet not bad but ours had an aroma that wafted in and out, not sure what it was. They did come and spray room but that didn't mask the smell. The chalet was heated very well. The restaurant was like a works canteen, plastic tables and self service. Had to find a table then queue for meals,we believe there were 1000 people there so the queues could be considerable at times.Food was OK but not brilliant. No real xmas atmosphere and no New Years countdown, which we have enjoyed on similar breaks.
