“Anniversary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

We booked a romantic break to celebrate our wedding anniversary which included 3 course evening meal and breakfast the next morning. We had an executive room which was very nice and overlooked the garden and the river. The bathroom needed some attention as there was mould growing in the corner of the bath but on the whole the room was good.
The evening meal was very nice but the service was painfully slow. Only two members of staff on but neither seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing.
At breakfast the next morning we were served by a very pleasant and helpful waitress who was very eager to please. Breakfast was high on choice but low on quality. You could have built a wall with the bagels.

Awful place. We stayed last Saturday night, there were 2 weddings on during our stay so there was no where for us to have dinner or drink. We ended up going out somewhere else for the evening. When we returned the car park was full, we explained to the staff that there was no spaces and was told to park on the village hall car park near by, which didn't happen as that car park was also full!. The staff were not very helpful and didn't seem to be able to smile. Our room was fairly clean, but no air con and the plug switches didn't work at the desk area. Due to the weddings and being put into a room that was on the ground floor there was noise until gone 1am, which included people shouting/screaming in the car park which the staff did nothing about. There wasn't enough fag bin so there were fag ends around the outside of the building. The breakfast was the only good thing about the whole stay. We booked a night to see what this place was like as it was one of three places that we were considering for our wedding but there is no way I would stop there again let alone get married there!!!!.

At hotel for a wedding - hotel is obviously living off a previously good name and it's location. Could do with a complete refit unblocked toilets damp proofing tap heads and staff that can actually bother with customer service and smiling. Whole stay was a disappointment especially as they want to charge the earth whilst telling you to make up your own beds (without supplying sheets) and telling you you can't have air conditioning as you're only paying for a standard room. £40 a CHILDS head for a wedding breakfast of sausage and chips (I don't think so!!!) whilst guests clear tables of glasses as their staff are too busy chatting. Lying about availability of rooms and then palming you off in another. Staff member heavily swearing at DJ to pack up in front of small children. Avoid this hotel at all costs as it lacks any sort of customer service, standards or professionalism.

My husband and I stayed Friday and Saturday night on a special offer which included a two course meal the first night, and afternoon tea the second day. Both included a glass of Prosecco.
The room was fairly bleak to be honest, but it was very clean. However, we arrived on the hottest weekend of the year so far, and the air con didn't work....it made all the appropriate noises but did nothing.
The evening meal was poor, to say the least. We had a limited choice as it was a special deal, from four starters and four mains, but one of the starters was unavailable so not a good start. As I said, both of us thought the food was only just average, and the Prosecco was insipid and warm.
With having no air con, I slept very poorly so the next day we were moved, and to a cool room! The afternoon tea was very nice, plenty of food and fresh made shortbread, and ice cold, very nice Prosecco. What a difference a day makes.
The staff were all nice, especially the lady who served afternoon tea.
The hotel itself is very popular for weddings (three while we were there) and the village is delightful. Shame about the meal......

I was looking for somewhere to take my mother for a birthday afternoon tea, I found the staff really polite and very helpful, the tea was excellent and good value! Would highly recommend Quorn Grange.

Called yesterday for afternoon tea.
Any one else going please keep your money in your pocket.
Wine was not served on arrival, had to ask.
The food served up was the worst standard to ever be served to me.
Old dried scones, three of the smallest finger sandwich each, no choice.
A cut up waffle to bulk up the plate presentation, two off horrible short cake biscuits.
Sorry but had to walk out. Picture of food to be on offer for tea was fraud.
Seating area left to be desired.
