We went here on a Groupon deal just before Christmas 2013.

We got there early just after 6pm, and the place was empty. The staff were friendly and attentive and served us quickly.

The place soon filled up and seemed to have a good atmosphere going.

Food was very good. No problems with it being Groupon. Portions were ample and we were pleasantly full. We even took some home in a doggy bag!

It is situated in the middle of nowhere, but easily accessible from Loughborough and Melton and surrounding villages. I'm sure it would be a pleasant drive out on a light summer's evening.

I have just noticed it is advertised on Groupon again and this jolted my memory to write a review.

I think I would definitely visit here again.

Having just moved to the area we couldn't wait to try The Indian Cottage. Although the location is in the middle of nowhere, isn't in any way a negative only for the reason we may never of found it! The staff were very professional and welcoming from start to finnish, the menu has a wide range of dishes to suit every ones taste as well as some unique choices too. I usually go for the same thing but i took a chance and glad i did! The place itself has a very nice, cosy and relaxed feel to it, very clean and well organised..
The food we had was exceptional and value for money, i passed on the a complimentary liqueur after we had finished eating but only for the reason that i was too full up to eat or drink anything else… as we we will be retuning very soon i will leave some room next time!

We sadly don't eat out as a family often now we have small children but ventured to our local curry house with our 2 children as a last resort one cold Monday night. It was quiet in the restaurant (we arrived at 6) and the staff were brilliant, they found us a high chair and chatted with the children. They were happy for us to provide food for our 1 year old and a drink for our 3 year old while ordering full meals for us and brought an extra plate so our 3 year old could have some of ours. They were patient and the food arrived swiftly. We had a lovely meal, the children enjoyed the poppadoms and dips and naan and a lovely tarka daal and mixed rice while we had chicken dansak and lamb balti. We will definitely go back soon.
