“25 years on since the disaster.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We live locally and this was our first visit to the memorial. Very helpful volunteer explained the displays which includes information not only of the 103 disaster but historical recorddetails of the local area.

“Moving”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 via mobile

We went to visit the Lockerbie memorial gardens as a large group which consisted of approx 24. We were welcomed with open arms by a lovely lady called Ann. She was so pleased to see us and she was lovely with all the children. She provided lots of information about Lockerbie. She gave a talk and showed us a film. When we left she told us about other places of interest and provided us with a map. Very emotional experience and a must see if you are travelling or staying nearby

“A place for contemplation”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

What a wonderful experience it was going to Dryesdale Lodge Visitor Centre. It certainly was a place of quiet contemplation upon seeing the names and personal information of the victims of the Pan Am Flight 103. There is also a history room full of the history of Lockerbie and the area from ancient times to the present day. There is also a room that exhibits arts and crafts from local members of the area.

“Emotional”
Reviewed 7 August 2013

The lady and gentleman that we met were very helpful and knew a lot about the local area. The visit to the Lockerbie Memorial was emotional and then we took a walk across the road to the nature reserve and were treated to up close and personal encounters with red squirrels and lots of native birds.

“A chance to reflect”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

Anyone visiting Lockerbie or the surrounding areas should visit the Dryfesdale Lodge visitor centre as it gives you a chance to reflect on the terrible events of 22 December 1988, whilst also learning more about the general history of Lockerbie.

We found our visit very informative and we also visited the garden of remembrance and memorial to the Lockerbie victims just a short walk away from the visitor centre. Nothing brings home how awful the terrorist act was more than seeing the memorial with so many names on it.
