My wife and I stayed at the cottons hotel Saturday 3rd may for their spring treat. This is a very good deal. Dinner, bed and breakfast plus full use of the spa facilities. This was our 3rd stay at the hotel and we have loved every visit. We upgraded to a executive double room which had a fridge,(very handy for taking some drinks with you). The room was lovely, very spacious, very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly with us. Couldn't check in till 2pm but that wasn't a problem, gave us chance to have lunch in the bar. The pool is a good size, it was never really busy so great chance to have a swim.Indoor Jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub were both so relaxing. Knutsford town centre is a 20 min walk away. Lovely town. Dinner and breakfast were superb. Ideal place for a relaxing break. The restaurant manager who was working sat 3rd and sunday 4th may was very good at her job, always smiled and was very helpful. Herself and another waiter dealt with a rude and difficult party who were dining for sunday lunch very well. We love the hotel and will be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms 144 to 148 are very quiet.

I stayed here this weekend with my mum as a late mothers day gift. We arrived on Friday afternoon and headed straight to reception, no queue, no hassle and very nice receptionists. I was also surprised to turn away from the desk and be greeted by the duty manager who addressed me on first name turns and asked me if I needed any help with my luggage. Fantastic little touch.

The room was 229 and had everything we needed with a view of the garden centre. We slept through the night with no noise disturbance and the beds are so comfortable.

We visited the spa on friday evening. It was busy at the pool, clearly a hot spot for locals too but this provided a great atmosphere and it was quiet in the areas it needed to be such as the outside hot tub and the sauna and steam room. The man who greeted us was fab. It was clear that English was not his first language but I can't commend him enough for being very helpful and precise with explaining where everything was etc. The spa rooms themselves were amazing, so relaxing. We had a facial and a full body massage, fabulous, thank you to Kelly & Jade, we were in heaven.

We had dinner included in our package and had a table reserved for 8pm. The "foods of Cheshire" table is the best thing I've eaten from in a long time. Very nice idea. We had 2 fish dishes and 2 ice creams for dessert, I definitely recommend the fish curry, it was delicious, compliments to the chef. The staff in the restaurant were fabulous and certainly knew their stuff. The wrong dishes came to our table at first by a young male waiter but he sorted it out within 2 minutes and his attitude was so professional that it was actually nice to experience a mistake being rectified in such a manner, well done him.

Overall this hotel is perfect for a relaxing quiet night away with great food and great staff. Whoever is running this place clearly is very passionate about his guests and hotel and this shines through each of his staff members. A big thank you to everyone.

Stayed for one night over the bank holiday. Rooms very clean, bed reasonably comfy for one night and range of pillows, blankets, dressing gowns, iron, trouser press and usual toiletries, shower gel, soap and shampoo. Couldn't find the hairdryer tucked away in the dressing table, label not very obvious. Staff very professional and attentive, no waiting for breakfast which was very good quality and variety, freshly squeezed juices. We stayed in room 239, had a settee and coffee table, overlooking the garden centre next door. On the flight path for Manchester airport so a bit noisy but didn't bother us and didn't hear anything overnight. The spa has a large enough swimming pool for hotels standards and loved the outside hot tub.

Knutsford is a lovely little town, very quaint main street with a range of pubs and restaurants. Easy walk into town but the only thing that spoiled it was the return taxi charged us £7.50 for a just over a mile journey. Can't stand a rip off!

Room Tip: Room 239 large room with seating area, quieter as second floor and further down the corridor.

Thank you for posting your review on your recent visit to our Hotel.

Great to read you enjoyed your stay and I am really pleased that you enjoyed the spa and our outdoor hot tub.

Disappointing to read bout the Taxi charges, I don't understand why they are more expensive than other areas of the country but we will keep an eye on the companies we use to ensure that we get a fair price for our customers.

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday evening as we were attending a wedding reception close by. We decided to spend the afternoon in the spa. We arrived at the spa and went to reception where we were greeted by two members of staff who just looked at us as if we shouldn't be there. One asked us "What do you want?". We replied we were hotel guests and were looking to use the facilities. There was no explanation of where everything was, we felt like we were an inconvenience. We used the pool for an hour and left.
The room and the bathroom were ok. The bed was quite comfortable and there was no noise from the bar and restaurant areas.
When it came to breakfast the next morning, to say it was a farce really does not convey how absolutely chaotic the experience was. There was a very long queue for tables. We managed to finally sit, nobody came over and asked us if we wanted tea, coffee or toast, so we went in search of a member of staff. We put our order in and also asked for some more juice glasses as there were none left. We then queued for a hot breakfast which took 30 minutes. By the time we reached the front of the queue half the food was not there. It was being cooked and would take another 10 minutes. There was one young guy on his own dealing with angry, hungry customers, meanwhile two managers were swanning around clearing tables that were no longer required as there were no customers to sit down. We took what was available and went to sit down, commenting that the tea and toast would be cold but it wasn't even there.
At this point I went in search of a manager who was stood idly by a table telling two customers that everybody how bust they were! I asked him for tea and toast explaining how long it had been since we ordered it. He came by our table with tea and toast. I asked for butter, he left. Another 5 minutes and the butter arrived. I asked for milk and again another 5 minutes passed. And this is from a manager. It was disgraceful, no sorry's, nothing.
Upon checkout we complained and they took the £25.00 they had charged us for breakfast. As we were leaving the young guy from the breakfast buffet apologised to us. We asked if it was like that every weekend and he said yes. I asked if he got any support from his managers, he just looked away. That look said it all.
I would never recommend this hotel, and I would never go back. The money they charge, it is not worth it. It also needs a lot of maintenance, there were lamps missing and fittings hanging out of the ceiling in both the spa and reception.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the issues you encountered during your stay. I can confidently say that this is not indicative of our usually high standards of service we provide at Cottons. I am especially disappointed with the staffing comments as again, this is not usual and is one of our key strengths.

I have passed your comments onto our team and we will ensure that we do our best not to repeat this poor level of service again.

Stayed for 1 night on the escape package. Overnight stay, breakfast, 3 course meal and 1 x 30 min treatment included. All outstanding! Could not find one fault. Facial was superb as was the food both evening meal and breakfast. Highly recommend both the sirloin steak and the lamb. Outdoor hot tub gives this hotel an added special touch. Staff very friendly and service was excellent This was my 2nd visit to this hotel and certainly won't be my last.

We stayed at Cottons and enjoyed the Girls Night In package. Check in was swift and we made our way up to our room. The room was lovely, although a little outdated and rough around the edges but a great size and very good amenities. The Nespresso coffee machine was an added bonus and made a really good coffee. The selection of tea, biscuits and complimentary milk and water was a nice touch.
We were booked in for a spa treatment too which was a definite highlight. The massage felt amazing. Very ambient surroundings and it was all just so relaxing, just what we needed! After the massage we headed to the pool area where reception staff let us know where to go. Wasn't too busy so we were able to try out the pool, jacuzzi and then hot tub. The hot tub is just lush, loved that! The only let down in this area was that out of all the loungers 3 were in use but all the rest had been "reserved" with towers. For the whole time we were there no one returned to them but no one else could use them. Think the swimming staff ought to keep an eye on that and either remove the towels after so long or tell people not to in the first place.
Dinner that evening was delicious. Cannot fault the food here, very well presented, very tasty and service was really good too. We had the desserts to our room and I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding - it was to die for!! We had to call reception to request the DVD list but one was brought up really quickly and there was a good selection of different genres and films.
Breakfast the next day was also really good. We went down about 8:30 and it was busy but not overly busy, was seated straight away. Breakfast was very tasty too and had a good selection of foods as well as things you could order. Loved the juice bar, proper juice!! A great weekend experienced by all. Left feeling nice and relaxed (and full!) :) We felt very accommodated at Cottons, definitely would return and recommend a stay here.

Thank you for posting your review on your recent visit to our Spa here at Cottons.

I was disappointed to read that the sun loungers were "reserved" - this is not something we encourage and I have asked our Spa team to look into a better way to manage the loungers going forward.

Great to read that you enjoyed the rest of your stay especially the food and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
