Very pleasant staff and check in fine. Sad to see that most of the period features of what was clearly once a house have now gone and internally pretty dull. Rooms are quite spacious and perfectly comfortable, though look like they've not been done up since the 80s. Bemused by the plastic band on my loo which told me it had been sanitised for my protection. Are guests to this hotel more likely to carry hideously infectious diseases than other hotels? Nice to have a cooked breakfast. The poached egg was excellent although the scrambled eggs were very overcooked. The rest of the hot food came well steamed from a hot buffet counter but was nice enough. Overall a pleasant stay and our evening meal, which was part of a large event party, was very nice, especially seeing as they were catering for so many people.

The rooms are clean and the meals in the restaurant are very good, and reasonably priced. The breakfast in the morning is also very good, serving both cold and hot breakfast options. The rooms are clean and well appointed. This hotel does cater to weddings and conferences, so they do tend to fill up quickly if one of these groups is booked. In addition, if your room is near the wedding reception room, you may hear some of the spillover of noise from these functions, but the night I was there, it was over by midnight, so not really an issue for me.

There is wireless Internet, but in some rooms it can be spotty reception. Also, there are no gym or fitness facilities at this hotel, so keep that in mind when booking. There are plenty of open roads to run on, if you run, but that is about it.

A cab into Knutsford will cost you about 10 GBP and their is free on-site parking for those with a car.

great hotel ended up getting a £165 for £50 from late rooms and was really excellent all round, lovely position to explore Chesire, the gorgeous high end town of knutsford is just a short drive away and the superb Gauntlet Birds of Prey just down the road. Well worth every penny. Lovely building, lovely food and great friendly staff.

I only stayed one night on the way to Manchester, but I will go back again if I need to stay in the area.
Good location near the M6 and routes into Manchester but very peaceful.
Hotel is a wonderful old country house that has been well converted. The room was spacious as was the bathroom and very clean everywhere.
The shower was excellent and controlable.
It was a very cold night but the whole building was warm.
Great character restaurant with good menu and excellent food served on hot plates.
Staff were all polite and helpful.
Even the car park was well lit and well paved to the hotel buidling.
Gave me a very reasonable deal for dinner, bed and breakfast, why go to chain when you can get this sort of service in nice comfortable private hotel? You would be hard pressed to ask for more.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding day at Mere Court on August 22nd and can not praise the hotel enough. All the staff were so attentive and helpful and many of our guests have expressed the same opinion. The food was fantastic and the grounds were superb for our drinks and photographs. The Conservatory room is a perfect room for a large wedding party.
We stayed for 2 nights in the presidential suite which was real luxury with a comfortable 4 poster bed and big jacuzzi bath. We were truly looked after from the moment we arrrived at the hotel till the day we check out.
We would reccomment this hotel to anyone who is thinking of holding their wedding reception here...fantastic!!

Stayed just one night. Dined in the restaurant. The hotel was busy with a wedding which accounted for the sporadic service we experienced in the restaurant - it was quite amusing how the people on the next table who were obviously taste-testing for a future function received all the attention from the serving management and staff! The room was large but dated, bathroom reasonably clean. However, the pillows were absolutely awful (thin, hard & lumpy), so we did not sleep at all.
