Attraction details
Owner description: Gauntlet, Eagle & Vulture park is the largest bird of prey park in the Northwest of England. With over 120 birds of prey, ranging from the smallest owls to the worlds largest eagle and Vultures it really is a haven for animal lovers. Gauntlet has two daily shows at 12.30 and 3 during the months March-Oct and during the winter months weekends only. As well as our two daily displays we have vulture feeding and meet & greet. We have a large children's play area with plenty of room for picnics. We are on the same site as Fryers garden centre and you can leave at anytime and come back for our displays. For those wishing to get closer we have bird of prey experiences which are run 7 days a week throughout the year. This gives people the opportunity to handle and fly the birds.

“birds, birds, goats and ferrets!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

Not on the agenda but Tatton Park was so busy we called into the garden centre for coffee and cake while we devised a plan B. Once we spotted Gauntlet we were intrigued.. wow is all I can say. A meet and greet had just started with a ferret and a hawk. Then the goats lots of photos of birds of prey were taken then a quick walk to the flying area. One of the best if not the best shows I have ever seen, owls, hawks, vultures and kites all buzzing low over our heads, fantastic, the feeding could be a little problem for the squeamish but you are warned! For a small outfit they put on a good show!

“Great Taster”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

My 8 year old son was given a taster session for his birthday and what a great hour he had!

His guide Joe answered all of his many questions, he got to hold four birds - all in all , a great hands on experience.

“Owl Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

Visited gauntlet on May 13th, the Owl experience was a joint birthday present for my husband & myself. We received a warm welcome on a very wet day, Shelley was very knowledgeable & made our experience special. It was lovely to get close to these lovely birds also the flying display of the other birds & to look around the aviaries. I would highly recommend gauntlet for a family day out.

Wonderful collection of birds of prey, hawks and vultures. Park people work to conserve and educate and fly most of the birds regularly. Learnt loads and family want to go back

“A Grand Day Out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

This is well worth a visit, especially if you like birds of prey. I was given a voucher for my birthday and was lucky enough to be the only person on my visit. The birds are well kept and Shelley, who was my guide, was knowledgeable, funny, calm and very friendly and full of anecdotes about the various birds. There is a tea shop but unfortunately it was closed. No real hardship as Gauntlet is next to a garden centre which serves delicious if slightly pricey food. So birds of prey and shopping. Double whammy. If you are near Knutsford or Chester it is worth a visit.
