Tatton park is one of my best childhood places and always will be for many reasons.

I visited in January this year and I never get bored of going, if anything I'd love to stay there and actually camp there but you have to be a member and of car shows or shows hosted and I'm more of a nature girl thanks shows (although the classic car is pretty good!)

Always go there on family outings sometimes with younger family members so the park is one of the places we go which is huge, there's tables and chairs so you can keep and eye out on your kids or have picnics on. The farm is a must visit, seeing all the pigs and sheep, goats etc ...they do niw have a slaughter house hut and although I think it's good for children to know where their meat is coming from ,as most presume it's 'from tesco' I feel like they glamorise the murdering of animals (yes I am too a meat eater). Absolutely love the farm shop for its lil nick macks to take home, especially when you've walked a few miles round the trees and lakes and can just pick up a tub of ice cream! ---check out the reduced items in the basket as you come through the door too, you can get some lovely shortbread and jams on discount and also the pork pies are a must have---

It's not that far to get to either, the only negative would be the price of the park, I don't understand why it's gone up over the past few years and is now about £7 or £8 per car (sometimes we used to park and cycle up from the main road)

Attaching a few images from various points around the park, lots of deer roaming too which I think it's amazing, absolutely amazing being able to be so close to those animals and sharing the environment with them!

All in all, a beautiful place to visit alone/family or friends

Thank's for the comprehensive review Saffro!

As a nature person, our 1000 acre's of Parkland must be perfect for you! You'll never have to walk the same trail twice, or see the same view! Thanks for the feedback on camping, we'll feed it back! Our Farm has been recently extensively redeveloped to tell our 'Field to Fork' story, and as part of that we reopened the historical slaughterhouse that was used back when the Farm provided food for the estate. For the entire story, but especially this sensitive element we consulted with schools and local groups to ensure the content was as accurate and informative as possible, but without trying to glamorise the process - we'll definitely take your comments on-board though.

Tatton Park is fully funded and staffed by the local Council, so unlike other similar properties we have to charge for vehicle park entry to enable us to maintain and preserve the estate. Your £7 goes a long way though - it allows you entry into our 1000 acre parkland, BBQ area, Stableyard shopping/dining area, Adventure Playground and much much more.

My partner and i have just visited and we are very dissapointed. We were charged £7 to go in with our vehicle (fair enough). But we wanted to see the gardens and they were charging £7 to get in the too. If we did have kids we would have to send them in on there own because us parents couldnt afford it.

Hi Flyer237465,

We're not funded like other NT properties, instead fully financed and staffed by the local council. This means we charge in areas that others may not, including for vehicle park entry and into the attractions (Gardens, Mansion and Farm). We do regularly benchmark our pricing however against similar regional competitors and think we're competitive - a family of 5 can visit the estate for £40, including entry into the Parkland, Mansion, Gardens and Farm.

A great visit where you can walk for miles. Plenty to visit in better weather, but the house & gardens were closed due to winter. We will return in spring as we wish to view the whole experience.

Tatton Park is right next to one of the greatest town in the uk. Stunning views and lovely walks. There are an impressive array of events and the house is really interesting to visit.

The children’s play area is great in the warmer months.
