Very nice place, great stopover. Food exceptional, staff welcoming and an excellent ale selection. If staying make sure you eat lunch or dinner here, either way a great breakfast will send you on your way.

The room (4) was basic, but no complaints at all.

We booked this Inn as a last minute stopover when visiting Cheshire. The location is excellent in a small quiet village but close to many things to do. Our room had a lovely view over the fields and was very spacious and well presented. We ate in the restaurant and the food was well priced and very good quality. It is obviously a popular eatery as all the tables were full. There was a very nice outside space to sit and it would be lovely to visit in summer. Breakfast was very good with real leaf tea (if you enjoy a good cuppa). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Room 3 if you want a rural view

I went here with family for an Easter/birthday meal and have to say, it was a very lovely meal. The asparagus salad is particularly wonderful and the place was clean, welcoming and with friendly staff. The only downside would be the fact that it took over half an hour for two salads and some ribs to be served after ordering, even though the place was very quiet so we were VERY hungry! Otherwise it would have had a five star review!

Tucked down a narrow country lane, but well signposted lies a gorgeous country pub called The Dog Inn.
For a Tuesday evening this place was heaving with diners and locals having a quiet drink. Had it been warmer and summer there would be no doubt that all the outdoor seating would be taken too.
Lots of local beers on offer which pleased hubby and a nice Pinot blush we ordered our meal. Local fayre and generous portions we enjoyed the seafood platter starter followed by ribs for hubby and a surprisingly tasty halloumi salad for me. Stuffed we couldn't fit in dessert despite being tempted by the sticky toffee pudding and the local Cheshire farm ice cream flavours.
All in all a lovely evening, we'll definitely be back.

I stayed here for one night with my husband. It was just what we needed, a rural pub but clean, smart and quite delightful. The room was immaculate, simple but stylish and fairly roomy with a large modern bathroom. How nice it is to just walk downstairs for dinner. The place is what it says it is that is a pub so order at the bar and find yourself a table but the food, service and professionalism couldn't be faulted. I had the smoked haddock and my husband had duck both excellent. It isn't often that we say we will return but we will go back to this one.

Room Tip: We had room 3 but am sure they are all of the same good standard

Mother's Day must be a nightmare for kitchen staff. However, at The Dog standards were certainly high throughout the afternoon. Great staff working hard, great menu and great food. If you want fantastic value then The Dog is a 'must'.
