We had a great week in Orkney based at Elska Apartment. We enjoyed staying in Kirkwall, with good shops and pubs selling local food and drink. The apartment is in a quiet street but centrally located, just off the main shopping street. The location is ideal for exploring without a car - 5 minutes walk from Kirkwall Travel Centre, from where buses go to most parts of the island.
The apartment itself is comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We appreciated the newly fitted shower, and Sam and Emma were friendly and welcoming both in our email correspondence and on our arrival.
Based in the heart of Kirkwall this lovely accommodation is fitted with everything you would require for an Orkney break . Close to all Kirkwalls attractions there are many good eating places within a short walking distance, including the Old Library Cafe Bar just across the road which is well worth a visit . The house was clean and warm with two lovely recliner chairs which were very welcome at the end of busy days. Emma was there to meet us with a very warm welcome and we would have had no problem contacting her if there had been any issues with the accommodation which of course there wasn't. Would definatly book again for future holidays to Orkney.
Elska was the perfect Kirkwall apartment for us - great location, great facilities and great owners. We were very comfortable and Elska is one of many happy memories we have of our time in the Orkneys.
This lovely, cosy little house is in an ideal location. Quiet but close to shops, restaurants and local transport. A warm and relaxing home to return to after a windswept day at Skara Brae! The shower and sofa referred to in earlier reviews have been replaced with a new electric shower and 2 comfortable armchairs.
The owners, Sam and Emma, add an additional touch with a personal welcome and a gift of local goodies. Much appreciated and hope to back. Thanks.
My husband and I were in Orkney for a week and were delighted to find this little gem of an apartment. It has everything you need for a couple - and there is a fold down couch in the living room if you need it. It was very clean and well appointed with good wifi. Upstairs was a comfortable bedroom and shower room and downstairs was an open plan sitting and dining area and a small kitchen. We were extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. There was even an outside paved area at the back should you wish. Extremely handy for exploring Kirkwall and a good base for exploring further afield. Orkney has so much to see and do and the people are extremely friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Be aware - the shower is not good due to poor water pressure but Sam made us aware of that and it didn't bother us. Highly recommend.
Lovely flat very centrally located in Kirkwall so no need to drive to most restaurants, bars etc.
We stayed almost a week and the weather was freezing but the flat was cosy and welcoming when coming in from the snow.
Everything within the property was clean and well equipped with a very fast wi-fi in situ which was much appreciated.
Would return with little hesitation
