We stopped here briefly before heading back to our ship. Our guide recommended the great selection of shortbread cookies and homemade drinks. They are delicious. Nice looking store although geared towards tourism as some of the sweaters were expensive. Oh and they sell Orkney ice cream! Delicious!

I had a "light bite" of local rollmops & oatcakes, and a coffee bombon (I didn't know you could get those outside of Spain!!) whilst meeting up with a friend for a catch-up. The food was delicious, the coffee a little more bombon than coffee (but still very enjoyable), great service, and the atmosphere was relaxed & not too noisy - perfect for a good old catch-up - quiet enough to talk, but not so quiet it felt that you couldn't talk! The location is great (right across the road from St Magnus Cathedral) and it's in the back area of the wonderful Judith Glue shop (which is well worth a mooch before/after your visit).

Called in here for a cup of tea and cake. The place was bust but we did manage to find a table. Shared a large pot of tea and treated ourselves to some cake. The carrot cake was gorgeous but my husband said the chocolate cake was a bit dry (that could be him though!). Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend.

It was busy which is a good sign.. We were saeted at small table next to door to toilets and store so it was constantly being used which was annoying. But, on the plus side our lunch was very good. We had a cheese and ham melt and rollmop herring. Served with a smile!. Home baked cakes etc at the counter. Worth a visit.

The nice smell from the cafe area of the shop enticed us to eat lunch here. We weren't disappointed. There were two soups so we each had one - both were tasty and obviously proper homemade. Accompanied by either bannock bere or cheese scone (very large!) and one of the bottled drinks.

It's not cheap but the food is good and the service was efficient and friendly at a busy time (there was a large cruise ship in so many people having coffee/eating in the town)
