The staff in this lovely ild hotel were fantastic. The food served also falls under this title. Our room was compact the bathroom very good. Situated on the front close to the shops and points of interest. The hotel is full of character the bar and dining area are well decorated.

Generally it was ok. The staff were nice and the room was very clean. ButThe room was really cold in the evening and the fire didn’t work. The bed was.very comfortable. The food was ok, if you eat fish and meat. Out of 5 vegetarian meals, two were nice. The rest were really awful. Two were seriously foul. Some king of cheap Aldi tined sauce with horrendously overcooked rice. Breakfast was seriously not great either, though the orange juice was ‘proper’ orange..

I had a short notice trip to Orkney. I was so pleased when I found out my company had managed to book me into the Orkney Hotel. I have stayed here several times. Always a pleasure.
I had dinner with a friend. The meal was plentiful and a delight on the old taste buds. Well done chef and your team.
Breakfast was equally as good.
Every member of staff I met were attentive and very helpful.
Overall, a great experience.

Great bar! Extremely reasonable prices and a selection of 1100 whiskies! The bartender had trouble finding some LOL. Huge gin selection too. Very friendly people here and great atmosphere. For pre dinner or after dinner drinks I don’t see how one can do better than this place near the waterfront in Kirkwall. My fish and chips were washed down immaculately.

Stayed on a overnight trip to Orkney hotel is warm, clean and comfortable staff are welcoming, I didn’t have dinner but breakfast was good. Hotel was quiet when I stayed and didn’t see many people. Hotel is right in the centre and very handy for shops and restaurants. I will return in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again it’s hard times for hotel and restaurant owners and the moment and complaining about petty things like steak pie lids seems pathetic to me.

We were in for a family meal. The staff were friendly enough but the kitchen committed the cardinal sin of Steak Pie production by cooking 'steak' and 'Pie Crust 'completely separately. In other words steak with. an anaemic sad looking crust placed on top after cooking. To add insult to injury the bar staff tried to pass-off a 'bright' beer as real-ale.
All not good - we decided not to take a chance on dessert.
