“The greatest Indian restaurant this far north”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

We rang and booked a table for 6 and they fitted us in within 20mins. We arrived and were seated with poppadums and pickles and drinks. We ordered the main courses and didn't have long to wait at all. When it came it was outstanding - the chicken Himalayan was the nicest meal I have had for a very long time. The service was excellent and very helpful when it came to what to order.

“perfection”

I dined here with my husband and 3 children, on a saturday evening, 2 of which are under 5 and therefore ate for free! The staff are always friendly with the kids and we felt very welcomed. The flavour and quantities are excellent and plentiful with the eldest child unable to finish hers and took it home in a doggy bag. We will be returning VERY soon.

“Excellent food, very friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2013

As we like Indian and Nepalese dishes very much, we decided to visit the Gurkha Kitchen during our two-week holiday on the Shetlands. Certainly a very good decision! After we had ordered, the waiter smiled and asked, whether we were sure we could eat all that. Well, we were hungry... But he was right, the rice portions and the size of the Naan bread was large. Everything was very delicous. The special rice was one of the best we have ever had, and so was the Mango Lassi. The waiter was very friendly, and we enjoyed talking with him. Before we left we decided we would come back on another day, and booked a table immediately. On our second visit, we had an equally good experience. This time a waitress looked after us, and she was happy to chat with us, about our holidays on the Shetlands and her visit to Germany. We chose different dishes, and they were very good again. The two evenings we spent at the Gurkha Kitchen were certainly highlights of our holidays on the Shetlands!

“Not too bad at all”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013 via mobile

Worth a visit if like me you need a medicinal curry.
I was in on a Tuesday about 8 and place was over half full.
Friendly efficient staff, reasonable prices and the food hit the spot.
Place is not fancy inside or out but clean and comfy and overall good value for money.
Portions were massive, and I can eat !
