Very nice restaurant, clean, good service, great food but very expensive.
Everything is Shetland Islands is expensive. I went for Business Meals only.
I can recommend this hotel for the restaurant and have a very nice view if the weather is nice.

Room Tip: Only for Business Meals, I don't know about the rooms.

The staff on reception were rather slow. The beds were soft and lumpy. The decor was appallingly dated considering the hefty price and star rating. The only good thing was breakfast and the staff looking after it.

It is a "tired" hotel - hallways and rooms. Enough occupancy to merit the investment for the money charged. Food is good. Not always staff around to cater to your needs, especially if out with the breakfast/lunch/dinner hours. Food not allowed in the lounge bar area - not even a sandwich or desert!

Nothing dramatically bad or good about the place. Nice location

We stayed one night at hotel... First impression good with nice reception, bar and dining area, however room very tired and dated but clean.... Had a sea view but windows were that dirty you had to open to see out.... Breakfast was nice.... Some of the staff were pleasant but others it seemed like it was too much bother especially when booking out... We paid £125 for bed and breakfast which isn't cheap so would expect better service.

Hotel dire from the outside but nice enough inside . Bar was a nice place to have a drink if the "background" music wasn't so loud. Asked for it to be turned down which it was but then turned back up ten minutes later to the point that several residents left the bar.
Most of the restaurant staff pleasant and helpful but the guy on the 3rd morning didn't give a damn and service was very slow. Don't order poached eggs as they aren't runny and the scrambled eggs are dry and clearly microwaved. Several guests complained but to no avail .On two days they had no mushrooms, however dinner was reasonable. If the hotel wasn't near where I was working would probably try elsewhere.

Driving up to this hotel left me a little down-hearted. it is rather grey and prison like on the exterior but inside , wow!
Interesting decor. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Shortbread and hot chocolate sachets plus plenty of toiletries and tea/ coffee etc. A problem with hot water supply was fixed immediately.
The food and dining room service is excellent including the breakfast.
Well done and thanks to all the cheerful and hard working staff.
best wishes

didn't stay here so cannot comment on the Hotel. We were 6 for dinner. The first thing to say is that the hotel bar is streets ahead of anything else I've found in Shetland. Comfortable furniture, pleasant décor, spacious areas, and somewhere a couple can go in comfort. There are few, if any bars in Lerwick where this is true. Added to which they had local 'Simmer Dim' ale on draught - gets my vote. We didn't have time for a full meal so opted for mains. I had a venison steak on crushed garlic potatoes, and my other half a halibut steak. Both were first class. Service was good throughout, if a little patchy on friendliness in the bar. Free WiFi throughout. Immaculate loos. Highly recommended. Almost a 5!
