We visited this museum twice during our one week visit. The first included the recently introduced 'Focus tours' which included Viking history and more modern crafts. Whilst this was new for the guides they well excellent, informative and gave much greater insight into the displays putting written word into a more engaging interaction. This museum is well laid out, informative and gives a great summary of the history of Shetland, particularly, the Pict and Viking periods. Well worth a visit - it's free with a great cafe as well.

We went back three times in a three week visit.

One of the best small museums I have been to recently. Excellent restaurant, would recommend the scones. Ideal place for a morning or an afternoon at leisure.
