“Intricate”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

A welcome change after drinking in the prehistoric richness of Shetlands' outdoor sites! I enjoyed the variety on display and the Town Hall was well-maintained and pleasant to stroll through. A quick chat with the caretaker led me to learn many stories about this structure... otherworldly ones I might add. ;)

“Fantastic guide, awesome windows”
Reviewed 27 October 2013 via mobile

My friend and I popped into the Town Hall just to take a quick photo of the famous *Rose Window* from the inside. On entering the town hall we found Billy Sandilands who gave us an extremely in depth fascinating tour of the town hall. We learned all about the shields, plaques, windows, brickwork, tapestries and Shetland history. Even my friend who is a local learned a lot! The stained glass windows are absolutely amazing with superfine detail where you can see the actual brush strokes on the glass. The best time to visit is on a sunny day so you get the full effect of the windows especially the Rose Window!

“interesting and good to be out of the rain”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

I found this small historic building interesting and a good place to shelter out of the rain, which had set in when we were little over half way around the knab. The stained glass windows are beautiful. Nothing in Lerwick takes more than half an hour to visit and this is no exception but it is worth a visit.

“A very good venue for a wedding reception!”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

A flexible entertainment space capable of supporting a main activity and subsidiary activities for youngsters. Interesting stain glass and an overall sense of gravitas to lend a little solemnity to the joy of the proceedings.
