having read good reviews of this restaurant we decided to pay it a visit for an evening meal..... the menu was unimaginative to say the least.... the usual selection of fish and chips scampi and chips steaks macaroni and cheese chicken balmoral burgers etc...... as i do a lot of homecooking i didnt want steak pie macaroni scampi etc as im quite capable of making this at home..... i therefore opted for the burger with cheese which i paid 50P extra for ..... on its arrival the cheese had been toasted onto the top of the bun..... the burger fell apart when u cut into it as there was nothing to bind it together..... the chips were poor quality frozen chips..... totally unacceptable..... the restaurant was anything but warm and i shivered through what i managed to eat of the meal..... i will certainly not be back there

It is disappointing you did not highlight your concerns on the day, as prompt action would have rectified your concerns.

Our menu is based on traditional pub food, with ingredients sourced locally. We also have an extensive specials board to compliment our range of meals.

The Muirs Inn will continue to strive to produce quality food, a friendly welcome, great service and an enjoyable experience. Our reviews consistently comment on this.

We stayed in Kinross for two nights and struggled to find somewhere to eat. We found previous reviews of The Muirs Inn and decided to go for it.
It was a very quiet evening so we had no problem getting a table in the restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming and there was a good choice of items on the menu.
We were very happy with our starters and thoroughly enjoyed them. For our main I had read about the steak pie so chose that. It was very tasty although a little dry and on the cool side which let it down a little.
All in all the food was nice, the welcome excellent and we would probably return.

Spent the last month staying in Kinross and hadn't eaten here till last night. In my opinion it beats the other eateries for quality of food. Not regular pub fair but restuarant Quality preperation & presentation.2nd time in and food excellent . Will be hard to go anywhere else in Kinross now.

We were travelling south and wanted somewhere to stop which served fresh food. I searched he Internet for recommendations. We phone ahead and booked The Muirs Inn for 4. y husband had medallions of steak in peppercorn Sauce ..fantastic my Gammon steak was large and thick....and melted in your mouth. Our youngest son had chicken goujons..home made and my eldest had chicken with haggis and a whiskey sauce .. He asked 'why do I have three chicken breasts on my plate' this will give you an idea of the portion sizes. I'm
Importantly we were met with a smiling face who could not do more to ensure our visit was comfortable and our meal enjoyed. We eat out a lot and we would definitely return to this hidden gem.

On 18th November 2012 I took 14 wet, tired and hungry cyclists to The Muirs Inn for lunch and to dry out. Our welcome was outstanding, even offering to hang up our wet jackets, and the food was excellent and inexpensive. I would heartily recommend your visiting some time you are in the area as we shall in future.

Stayed at the green hotel kinross and decided for a change to try the Muirs Inn Restaurant, for an evening meal.
All the food is freshly cooked, and home made with a good selection.
When we arrived, the reception we recieved was very warm and friendly.
A three course meal, and a two course meal with 2 alcoholic and 1 non alcoholic drink came to £40 for 2 adults.
Considering the quality of the produce this is a very good price, and value for money.
I must also say that the portions served are large, no scrimping or hiding anything.
The puddings, well, they are outstanding. The clooty dumpling was a treat, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream excellent. All freshly prepared and well presented.
A thank you to our server, I believe is also the owner, if you wish to learn about customer service then you will not go far wrong observing this establishment.
I highly recommend the Muirs Inn for your meal.
