“Sweet stay”
Reviewed 2 April 2017 for a stay in January 2016

We stayed with another family & had an awesome weekend. Great views, amazing & spacious house. The kids had a blast running wild around Loch Leven, playing in the gardens before in for supper in the spectacular kitchen. Then off to their TV room to chill out, while we cracked into the wine very relaxing. Recommend to anyone & very much looking forward to a return visit.

Lindsay, thanks so much for your lovely review. I'm so pleased you all enjoyed the house and the garden - and the area. Despite being so central and close to Edinburgh and Perth etc, Loch Leven really feels so in the middle of nowhere, it is very calming and the House is a great spot to unwind and soak up that view! I'm very glad you were able to enjoy evenings with a bottle of wine happily in the kitchen too! We very much look forward to welcoming you back again - soon I hope!

“Beautiful house, stunning location.”
Reviewed 21 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Wow, what a wonderful house. Firstly on arrival we were completely blown away by the incredible views, the house is in an idyllic loch side setting. We loved getting the tour of the house, it has been carefully and thoughtfully renovated to an exceptional standard. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all the essentials and much more. The large dining table was ideal for a big group of family or friends to enjoy a meal together. Our daughter loved all of the space to explore and it was well equipped with toys and games to entertain her. The bedrooms were all beautifully decorated, all with their own theme and the beds were very comfortable. The master bedroom really was something special, the bathroom had a stunning roll top bath overlooking the fantastic views! Overall we loved our stay at Balgedie House and very much look forward to returning for a family holiday sometime soon. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.

“Ideal for 2+ families or multi-generations!”

Wow! what a place! We enjoyed a stay in Balgedie House with another family. The house was furnished beautifully, yet felt so comfortable and homely right away. It worked brilliantly for us as we all had more than enough space, even the kids had their own playroom and bathrooms! I think a good sign of the break was that we hardly saw the gaggle of boys with us the entire weekend! It was so well equipped throughout and really practical touches like 2 dishwashers for those larger mealtimes made it all so easy. Cooking was a joy with those wonderful views. It is the type of place that you end up sitting at the kitchen table for hours on end, or by the fire in the evening putting the world to rights over a glass or two of something. We had the luxury of staying in the bedroom with the loo and a view! The bed in our room gave this mum of a newborn the best night sleep in ages - just so comfortable! Thank you! Perfect for a multi-generational holiday, or for a couple of families together. Definitely recommend. thanks.

“Fantastic place to get away from it all..”
Reviewed 7 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

I visited Balgedie House with my friends the first weekend in February. This house has been renovated beautifully retaining lots of original features and is beautiful inside and out. I loved the log burning stoves in particular. We had them both lit as it was snowing heavily when we arrived. The central area in Balgedie House is the very spacious and well equipped kitchen. I could have spent the whole weekend in the kitchen as I just love to cook. We had a fabulous banquet style dinner party. We cooked on the large gas stove and in double oven and it was a pleasant surprise to find that there were two dishwashers and two fridges in the kitchen as well as all other mod cons. e.g. coffee machine, nutribullet, fantastic Bluetooth music system, laundry room. The views of Loch Leven and the surrounding countryside are simply stunning as are the extensive gardens. This house is decorated and furnished to a very high standard with the bedrooms and en suites also being extremely luxurious and comfortable. I will definitely visit again in the future and would highly recommend a visit.
