Lobby nice enough, checked in in between two rounds of golf, had to ask about the included dinner etc as staff didn't seem to read what Package I had booked - basics!

We stayed on first floor in room 37, decent size but very dated decor and furniture. Stayed in a twin room with two small single beds that were not very comfy but acceptable after a good few beers. The bathroom also dated looking, the shower was practically unusable mounted too low for a 6 foot person and the water pressure so bad I'm surprised I even got wet. Only one towel in bathroom for twin room booked for two people, after some hunting found another in a plastic bag in the wardrobe, towels were small but usable.

Went to reception to ask about the water pressure and was told that is how it was and is worse when everybody using it at the same time (everybody in hotel showering at 18:30?). Water exactly the same the next day at 09:30. Also suggested that towels should be placed in bathroom as I don't wash in the wardrobe ( might have been as good as the shower) and the staff agreed and said that they (? Maids) have been told but keep doing it incase someone uses two towels and the other person does not have one, which I find strange as I am sure two people sharing a room with two towels can work out it is one each no matter how bad your math skills are.

Had dinner in Jocks bar food was average, haggis Bon bons very nice although severe lack of mustard mayo meant it was quite dry, had to ask for steak knife which took a few minutes to come after being served my dinner ( surely first day training of waiting staff is to give a steak knife when steak is ordered), all round dinner was not bad but nothing to get excited about. The bar lacked atmosphere and we headed in to the Muirs in Kinross which turned out being very disappointing and ended up back in Jocks bar solely as there was no alternative unless paying £40 each way in a taxi.

Breakfast in the morning was fine selection of cereals, juice and cooked breakfast, again though nothing special.

Don't know how the star ratings are awarded but have had much better stays in premier inns who get the basics right - clean modern room, comfy bed and shower that works.

Played three rounds of golf, the courses in good condition and provide a fair challenge but would not be rushing back to play either of them.

All round a pretty disappointing stay and would not be heading back in a hurry. Stayed in many better hotels and golfing resorts with better night life.

What a pity that a really nice hotel is spoilt by rooms like furnaces in June and, particularly, bathrooms with heated towel rails which, as confirmed by the manager, can not be turned off. I could have excused this except for the manager in question obviously not giving a damn. It didn't seem to be his responsibility , apparently it was a maintenance issue so maybe he was actually the oily rag rather than the engineer. He did actually say something about trying to find fans but, to be honest, I didn't expect any action and didn't get any follow up to my complaint. Let's not even go into the green issue, which you would think the Green Hotel would espouse but how ludicrous is it that a hotel wastes energy to make its customers uncomfortable?

Room Tip: One without a heated towel rail

Given a weekend break as a Christmas present. So we were looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend. Rooms - stayed in room 29, dated, torn net curtains and bathroom unpleasant. Went for dinner in restaurant - average. Had to move rooms due to wedding however none available so had to move to the hotel across the road. 4* gift now in 3*. Room better but at breakfast with an hour of serving left buffet trays constantly empty. Had a cup of tea from breakfast, advised receptionist of our nightmare stay and checked out for our long drive home. If your on a golfing break with friends and drinking enough not to notice your room this would suit your needs

had our daughters wedding ceremony and reception there this weekend every thing went well, with the staff all helpful even when some of the guests got a bit out of hand too much sun and alcohol ......you know who you are! Food in both the bar and at venue and breakfast.all good and hot. Well done Rachel and the rest of the team,a big thank-you. Rooms a bit dated but bedding and towels lovely and fresh, hope the bridal suite not too messy. Thanks again

Stayed as a one night stopover travelling back from Northern Isles.
One of the largest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in, our ground floor room overlooked lovely gardens, and even had it's own entrance lobby.
The only gripe was the chips didn't arrive until my partner was halfway through his steak, no apology or explanation given (In the Italian Restaurant).
Found all the staff courteous and helpful.
Will definately be going back, and staying a little longer next time.

Room Tip: Our room (12) was excellant.

Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard. it was light and airy with decent furniture. Bathroom was clean and functional. My wife found the bed a little bit hard but I had no problems sleepng. The hotels public area's such as the lounge and bar area's are a bit dated and in need of a refurb. Breakfast was buffet style and was the usual English breakfast choices together with cereals fruit croissants etc all nicely cooked . The staff were friendly and helpful across the hotels areas. We ate only one evening mea at the hotell and that was across the road at the Windlestre. We ate in Montys Pizzeria and had spag bol & lasgne. which was nothing special but perfectly ok. Kinross is a small town just off the M90 ideal for a base to explore Scotland and is a 40 min drive from Edingburgh.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 10 overlooking the courtyard. Being the end room on the ground floor it was nice...

The stay was pretty average. The ground floor rooms had been more recently decorated than the upper floors, with good furniture in large spacious rooms. The bathroom was still a bit shabby, with dirt in the floor and bath tub being very grubby and stained, which was a little disappointing compared to the standard of the bedroom. The shower was pretty woeful, and did not work on the second day we were there, so had to use a friends shower that day! The breakfast was good, with a good range of food and nice service. Apart from the issues with the room, the overall stay was very lovely.

Room Tip: Don't get a ground floor room, the gardens are used in the morning therefore curtains need to be...
