We stayed at the Green Hotel for a couple of nights celebrating our wedding anniversary.

The room was huge and very comfortable, although the bathroom was a wee bit tired and could do with being updated.

We ate in Basil's restaurant on both nights. The table d'hote menu was a bit limited but the food was very good and good value for the £25.50 allowance. I was impressed by the reasonably priced wine list - most bottles less than £20.

We are considering returning again next year.

A few friends and I arranged a round of golf originally at the Bruce but we were due to previous weather asked to play the Montgomery course which although a bit longer for us old boys wasn't a problem. :) It was a great day and the course was lovely. Part of the deal was we have lunch after the round at the Green Hotel. Lunch was booked for 3pm and we had a receipt for it. When we arrived we were told that they had no record of it, and anyway the Chef's had gone home. Shoulders were shrugged and we were told that there was nothing he could do. On asking for the Manager a lovely lady who's name I have forgotten came to see and within minutes sorted it out. We did have our lunch after all. The food was very nice but a very limited choice.

Just returned from a 2 night break including breakfast and dinner on both nights.
Hotel is situated in main street of Kinross and is part of a complex aimed at golfers.
We are not golfers, but used hotel as a base for visiting surrounding area. We were given Room 28 on the first floor which overlooked a flat roof and transmitter. It was very old fashioned and the decor is more mid - 70s than 21st Century
However, the public areas (dining room and lounge) were much better and more akin to the 4 star status.
We ate in 'Basils' Restaurant where we enjoyed a good 3 course meal on both nights. The staff are attentive, but I would also say a little fussy. One other annoying feature of the staff is their inability to walk at a steady pace - they are constantly rushing past tables causing air turbulence! Breakfast had plenty of choice and the quality of the food was good.
Maybe hotel is more geared to golfers as advertised than to the rest - but do not expect 4 star accommodation all round.

Room Tip: If you order a 'quiet room' - this could well equate to a dated , back room!

Stayed here for three day break. Good value overall. Very spacious room with fabulous view of the garden (room 22).

Excellent bath with plenty of hot water, unfortunately shower did not meet expectations - more of a mist! Lovely fluffy towels.

Breakfast plentiful with very cheerful and attentive staff.

Well stocked shop.

Had meal in Jock's Bar which was hot and filling. Reasonably priced.

Building/decor is a little worn/dated in places but it has character.

One night was enough, drove away without a backward glance! Everything just seemed tired and faded. We had a big room, but on entering there was a big torn hole in the net curtain, which partially hid an outstanding view of........ a corrugated roof. We retired to the bar, the staff seemed really rushed and on automatic pilot as regards courtesy and efficiency, a pint and a glass of wine ridiculously expensive. We did dine in, and by that time we just couldn't be bothered, so we just ate the very average meal, including the stale biscuits with the cheese, the very dodgy pint that looked like aged scrumpy, and wasn't, did go back, a man can only take so much. This Hotel needs to get its act together, it may seem that the management considers its cornered the market in that area, golf, the other Hotel etc, , but its not acceptable, even with our reticent Britishness about complaining and being picky. We will be in Kinross again soon, certainly wont be staying there.

Room Tip: Not at the back, the roof of the entertainment hall isn't that interesting.

Lovely big room with great view over the grounds. Delicious meal in pleasant dining room & good breakfast, staff very pleasant & helpful. Corridors getting a little dated decor wise, could do with a refurb.

Had an amazing weekend at the Green Hotel. Huge room, excellent food, welcoming friendly staff. Customer service was first class. I enjoyed a day package at the Beauty Rooms whilst my partner played a round of golf on the Montgomery course, one of two at the hotel. Gravity spa was great for relaxing in. Thoroughly enjoyed coffee in the lounge after our dinner a lovely touch. Staff were extremely attentive.
