“wonderful - tranquil - a gem inside Harlow”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

The Gibbard Garden is a true piece of Harlow History. The house and gardens were once the home of Sir Fredrick and Lady Gibbard, as a gift he left the gardens to the people of Harlow and it is extremely popular and loved by the local people. Its a wonderful day out as the garden is divided into sections, each one offering its own magic and wonder. Enjoy - you wont be disappointed!

“Interesting visit”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Its interesting to visit the home of the person who had a vision for a utopian village, that in the end was so very wrong. He seems like he was a nice man but with a unrealistic view, but if it weren't for this we wouldn't have all the fantastic walking trails all over Harlow. his collection of sculptures on the grounds is worth the visit.

“A lovely day out”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

A very beautiful place like a secret garden enchanting !! We took our 2 girls, there is a lovely old fashioned swing that the girls spent ages on and we got some lovely photos of them enjoying themselves. There is plenty of interesting sculptures to admire and also many beautiful plants, there was something new round every corner the children were not bored.

“Recommend this quirky garden”
Reviewed 31 August 2013 via mobile

A fascinating garden scattered higgledy piggledy with eclectic sculptures and art works. A useful map with pictures on the back makes for a family trail. Shame it's not open more but it's staffed by volunteers.
They have occasional events, detailed on their website, which are worth looking out for.
