Northney Farm Tea Rooms are tucked away at the north end of Hayling Island (well signed), just over the bridge from Havant. It is a cute barn-style, modern and clean. They serve local produce whenever they can so you can expect beautiful beef, fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm (and the eggs are also for sale) fantastic home made cakes and scones and wonderful homemade ice creams. We've dropped in at odd times and even in the winter it can be packed so if you want to go for lunch with a group or with a bigger family, phone to reserve a table so you're not disappointed. Portions are large, plenty of choice and the quality very good. On a warm day you can sit outside and enjoy the ambiance of the farm too. Worth a slight detour to visit it. Have a look at their website for further information about open farm days etc. They also offer take home (or local delivery) of fresh meat packs.

we had a lovely breakfast, the sun was shining and the rooms are bright, not the most comfortable with wooden chairs that make a loud noise when people move on them. there is a nice outside area for when it is warmer and the ice cream looks like it would be smashing for the summer too.

very friendly and good customer personal service. the eggs are very fresh and are from the farm. there is a story about where the food is from - all local suppliers and photos on the wall are interesting - seems to be a history of the farm over the years.

nothing too extraordinary about the place or the food, but a lovely local feel, seems to be a regular haunt for locals, and children are welcome. you can buy fresh eggs - duck, chicken and goose and I think milk too.

parking ok and disabled space available.

one thing - for all places with coffee machines..... when the beans are banged out of the container on metal, it is very noisy for anyone sitting close by. perhaps some rubber could be placed underneath the banging area to make it quiet!!!!!

Great afternoon tea with cake, scones and tea. Nice outlook over the local farm with happy staff who were attentive. Will definitely be back for another slice of cake

My this has developed well.
Good points; friendly service, reasonable prices, good coffee, specials board, tables well spaced.
Not so good; limited space in car park, very little atmosphere, not enough choice of cake to have a 'wow'.

Improve still further if; tea lights on table for atmosphere or few flowers, more local produce or items for sale, greater range of cakes.

Make more money if; staff offered table service, upselling and offering more drinks etc.
Still not quite cracked it but happy to visit and recommend.

We're always happy to meet friends at these lovely rea rooms.

The coffee was excellent and though service was a bit slow because they were extremely busy, we enjoyed our lunch. The other three had the stilton and broccoli soup with ciabatta bread. I fancied the poached egg and spinach on toast and it did not disappoint. It's nice to think that the hen that laid the egg was running around the nearby farmyard. As well as the usual hens' eggs, there were duck and goose eggs on sale.
