Great walk and cycle ride. It runs the whole of the west coast of Hayling and was once the railway track to Havant until dear Dr Beeching had it closed.

“Walk or cycle trail”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

Lovely flat three mile track along the edge of Langstone Harbour. Lots of sea birds as the tide comes in & wonderful displays of wheeling dunlin around the oyster beds at the northern end of the track in the winter.

To the bad reviewer Coventry ha v funny but I don't think the Billy trail is the little train it's where the bigger train used to run but is now a really nice walk where you can regularly see quite rare birds such as 3 different types of tern on the islands nesting that's if the dogs haven't frightened them off, a family of little owls visible little more than 20 yards off the walk loads of egrets, herons, wood peckers, buzzards, barn owl ( not that iv seen it) oyster catcher, curlew, even see a glossy ibis in the area and on Sundays just off the walk near the nesting islands there is a kind rspb chap with 2 or 3 spotting scopes set up for u to look out over the old oyster beds and area nice place

“This is a walk - with dogs, cyclists, horses and ruddy cheeks in winter.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Park at either end ( Station Theatre to the rear, at top of island on left just before the bridge or behind the eso half way on the main road).

Lovely views towards Portsmouth.

Can head to the beach on several cut throughs.

Just a family friendly lovely walk.
