“Sunny stroll”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Lovely scenic walk. Lots of wildlife and beautiful views. Great place to stretch the legs. It takes about an hour, and I reccomend you bring something to drink incase you get thirsty.

“Great views across to Pompey.”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We started at the theatre end in West town and parked up for free. Being on old railway line the path is very well defined and generally straight, I would imagine that it may get an bit muddy in places after a lot of rain and it is very popular with cyclists. After about a half mile the path runs along the sea and you get great views of Langston harbour and across to Portsmouth and the Spinnaker tower. A good place for a picnic on a warm sunny day and even for a swim - if the tide is up!

“Mostly good, but avoid the Havant end!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

I've cycled this a few times over the years from The Ship Inn to the Seafront and always really enjoyed it. Another ideal free parking place is found next to the Esso petrol station at Victoria Road, which was the site of the original Hayling North Station.

Just for a change, today I walked from The Ship Inn into Havant along the trail but I wasn't so impressed. Although dog bins are provided, I was disgusted with the amount of dog mess strewn along the path. It must be locals, so why do they not clear up after their pet? Do they not appreciate what a potentially lovely resource they have in this path? Closer to Havant, the path is covered with litter, beer cans, fag packets and looks terrible.

I hope some read this and feel guilty, I also hope anyone seeing this happen will have the courage to say something.

I will use the trail again to visit Hayling, but I likely will avoid filthy Havant.

“Great hour and a bit walk”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

Take the bus 30/31 just to before the old railway bridge, north end of island, and walk back down to the front beach. Great bird wildlife at the old oyster beds (terns) and lovely views over to Portsmouth. Lots to see. Interesting history about the old railway trackbed, you should read up on B4 setting off.

“A wildlife spectacular”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

This six mile trail runs parallel with a shoreline where there can be seen an abundance of wildlife, not to mention dramatic sunsets. At its southern end lies Whistlers Fish & Chip restaurant which makes for a vert tasty end to a pleasant stroll.
