went on a monday to friday break with a coach company, having been there before was realy looking forward to it, the food, entertainment, and cleanliness was superb, however it was like a holiday on a building site nobody said that there would be building work going on, peace and quite forget it. the holiday was not cheap so we expected a discount or a sorry from warners or the coach company. i will certainly think again before i book with either.

Room Tip: get away from the building work if you can

Thank you for reviewing your recent holiday at Lakeside.

I am pleased to read that everything to do with your accommodation, food and entertainment was to your satisfaction but sorry that the building works spoiled things for you. We are working with the contractors to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum and apologise that you were disturbed by this. I will ensure that your comments are passed on to the relevant departments.

I hope that we will be able to welcome you back once the work is finished.

Chalets incredibly tired and smelled stale, basic housekeeping and no vacuuming at all during 3 night stay. Reception and dining area etc lovely, as was the food. The rest of the place had more building work than expected and the advertising as a fantastic holiday village will be more accurate once everything has been updated. To be honest we expected our stay to be not exactly five star, but at least to have modern chalets with fresh decor, not stained grout and dirty walls and less than spotless hospitality trays as an example. It would be better to close the village down whilst the refurbishment is going on as it's too small a resort to do so when guests are there - the fenced off areas and piles of rubble etc are too on top of you, and very unsightly The staff tried very hard and did their best to entertain everyone. Actually the entertainment was very good as a whole. We wouldn't stay at this particular resort again, although would try one of the Warner hotels.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent break at Lakeside.

I am sorry that your time here did not match your expectations.

The extensive refurbishment of the site which is currently underway will address some of the issues you have raised and we are confident that the improvements will be worthwhile. We are a business which opens throughout the year and to close during the works was not possible.

I hope that we will be able to welcome you back some time in the future when you will be able to enjoy the improvements we have made.

I felt I had to write this review in response to some of the negative ones I've read. We had an excellent weekend here and I must admit I had some doubts before we arrived because of some of the comments.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't great and yes there was some building work going which I had been notified about in advance, it was all fenced off and wasn't a problem.
Our chalet was good, clean and warm, plenty of tea and coffee and two packs of biscuits everyday. Also had a free safe which I was pleased about as so mant times you have to pay for them.
The service we received from everyone was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, I was particularly concerned about the dining tables behind the pillars in the dining/entertainment area and spoke in advance with the restaurant manager about this, in the end this wasn't an issue and there are no large pillars in front of tables.
The food was a excellent, plenty of choice, food was hot, wine plentiful in the evening served at the table on this drinks inclusive package, always a bonus!
The entertainment first class, the team that put all this together worked hard throughout the day and evening to ensure that everyone was enjoying themselves. Really enjoyed the comedian on Friday, Re Take That on Saturday night were an excellent tribute act, wish they were on longer though and the staff 70's on Sunday evening.
Daytime activities were plentiful, there was always something going on and something new to try your hand at. In response to one of the other reviews we didn't win any competitions but it's the taking part that counts not the prizes!
All in all a very good weekend, I'd come back and do it all again and as the previous comment says, holidays are what you make them.

Room Tip: We had Starling 1, end of a block, was quiet.

We visited this venue for a long weekend last Friday. It was one of our usual mass family get togethers which we do every year. We always have visited a Warner location - for 10 years now - and have to say that this has been the most disappointing so far. We upgraded to what was advertised as their best choice - A Supreme Plus Chalet - and found it below par compared to similar accommodation on other sites. It did however have it's own designated parking space, which was very good. We felt it needed a makeover. It was tired and jaded. It was called "Creek View" and instead of a lookout of that, we overlooked peoples back gardens in an adjacent turning off the site. The prizes for the many quizzes they run were verging on pathetic. Yes - one enters the quizzes for fun, but when the only prize you receive is a bag of sweets ....... this is a venue for adults only - not children! We shall be returning to another Warner venue again next April. It is ideal for a large party such as we are. But not to Lakeside again.

After reading some of the reviews for this Warner holiday I was a bit worried we made an error in booking, but all I can say is that we all had an excellent time. There are always going to be people that pick fault and moan about things that don't even need a second thought. A holiday is what you make it - yes there was building work going on right next to our chalets in Quail, but it never bothered us or interfered with our plans at all.The rooms we stayed in were good and so was the bathroom. There was constant activities to do all the days we were there both inside and outside within the grounds. We particularly enjoyed the archery and rifle shooting which we took part in 3 times each respectively over the course of the weekend, and our instructor Jay was both professional and very entertaining. The food was good, the alcohol was great and our waiter Greg was even better. He was efficient and friendly and graciously took a lot of banter from one particular member of the family. The entertainment was very good, especially the house band and main female singer - sorry can't remember her name - but she had an amazing voice. Re-take that we're great on Saturday night. Overall I would totally recommend this place as we all had a great time.

Room Tip: You shouldn't be in your room unless you are sleeping or getting ready. Get out and enjoy the re...

We have just come back from a weekend break. We cannot fault any part of it. Every member of staff that we came across were courteous friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff couldnt do enough for us. The food was exceptional, I even had my own gluten free menu which Is very rare in my experience. They were very organised in the restaurant we didnt have to wait for our food, the waiters knew our names, were extremely friendly and polite and knew before i mentioned it, that I had to have the special menu. The manager even came over to introduce himself to us. The entertainment was just absolutely fantastic, from the Take That tribute act which, (as huge take that fans) we had come to see, to the entertainment provided by the staff which was very entertaining. The resident band was excellent, the singer had an amazing voice. The guys in the piano bar on the last night were brilliant. We decided to join in with some activities so we did the rifle shooting with Jamie and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was very friendly and professional, he also took the zumba class which was great fun.
The chalets were spotless, warm and comfortable. cleaned everyday by the chalet staff.
If I had to find something, the bathroom was a bit on the small side and we could hear other chalets bathroom fans going off but they stopped after a while, but that is being really picky as it certainly wouldnt put us off.
We will definately be coming back to lakeside.
Superb holiday

We have a family get-together each year and always use the Warners facilities, but I am afraid that Lakeside was a disappointment. Firstly though, the good points. Our waiter from Lithuania was excellent, friendly and efficient, but had to go off to other duties during our weekend. I can't blame the weather on Warners either.....but it did leave the site very muddy where building work is taking place. Perhaps the whole development is having updating works done and this is sadly in need. The decor in our chalet very "tired" but everything was clean. We found the lack of working outside lights quite a worry when we returned to our chalet at night. The whole of the path around the bowling green was without light and our own chalet and the one adjacent both had the outside lights not working. We were in a quiet spot though and that was good.

We participated in quizzes and were fortunate to win a couple - but Meerkat Jelly Babies as prizes !! Really ??

For us the all inclusive part of our weekend deal was not really much of an advantage - the wine - even the white and rose was poured long before dinner - so we did not bother with that.
We shall go back to Corton next year - and hope that Lakeside will improve in the future after much needed maintenance - to be a place to visit once again.

Not sure if the newer "Lodges" might be more insulated against neighbour noise - the first night the sound of neighbouring bathroom extractor fans was quite disruptive to sleep.
