We called here for a late Sunday lunch at 3.30 to find the car park full so we were concerned that they would not be able to seat us as we had not booked, however this was not a problem despite it being obvious that a large function was being held.
The front of house staff was friendly and efficient as were the waiters and bar staff. Food and drink orders were taken promptly and we didn't have long to wait before our starters arrived, my partner had prawn cocktail and I had scallops which were superb. Mains were steak pie for him which was extremely tender and packed with good chunks of meat, this was served with a little jug of gravy, peas and chunky chips. My meatballs with spaghetti were lovely. The pub serves hand pulled local ales and for wine drinkers it is nice that they are all served in small, medium and large glasses, or by the bottle.
This place is excellent quality and value, I have had much worse food at a lot more cost and would certainly recommend, it certainly deserves to be a lot higher placed on the Tripadvisor site
