After what seemed like hundreds of stairs and no lifts, we arrived to find there was no power, trying to get the key into the lock took 15 minutes. Limited towels, no bath mat, shower head holder was broke so my partner had to hold onto it whilst she washed her hair and shaved her legs. You can see damp in the wallpaper and hear when people come out of their rooms as the doors slam. Walls are paper thin and you can hear people showering in the next room

The hotel could not be faulted. There has been a lot of mixed reviews but we totally enjoyed our stay'From manager to the staff everybody was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy.Breakfast was good and service was excellent. The hotel is close to town Center and close to train station. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and family and we will be back. ;)

I completely agree with most of the reviews I've just read! This Is not a Hotle!! I felt so unsafe here. Also it is dirty, I think the only good thing about this Hotle is the free cups of tea and coffee in your room. The staff don't seem plesent, in my room the smoke alarm had clearly been ripped out, and cigaret buds all over window so they are obviously letting people hang out the Hotle windows and smoking, the Hotle genially smells, and feels so unclean, creaking walls and door and floor bored, doesn't seem safe at all, would be easy to brake into rooms, seriously don't understand the people putting nice reviews, I'm sure it's probablys the owners of the Hotle writing it because its seriously not right!! And the pictures on the Hotle website are nothing like what it is really like!! I know it's quite cheep but you will be able to find somewhere for a similar price for much better value!! Moved Hotle on second night for 10 pound more and It was 100 times better!!

Entrance way is dirty, carpets are worn, staff are not particularly helpful and the place smells. the room had holes in the floor, dirty ceiling and bathroom, the shower itself was snapped and the roof was a polystyrene false ceiling with stains everywhere. absolutely, without question the worst hotel i have seen. i asked for my money back when i saw the room; was not offered a refund despite never having stayed there for more than 20 minutes. i went to the new Premier Inn city centre and that was excellent. as other reviews have commented, it is terrible and i am flabbergasted that people have reviewed saying "that it is worth the money as it is cheap"; it is NOT worth the money. Travelodge and Premier Inn are within the same range and are significantly better. i did not even feel safe in this hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights as a base for travelling around and we can't fault it. The beds were clean, the shower was good, plenty of tea and coffee, great evening buffet and friendly staff that went out of their way to help. The only small problem was parking but even that was sorted by staff who allowed us to park down their side alley. The room was hot as the window only opens a little bit but we happened to be there on a very rare hot weekend. That doesn't happen often in UK anymore. We will definitely use this hotel again. Why pay 4 times as much for a less personal service . Thank you to all involved, we loved it.
