“Gorgeous little cafe in the woods.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013

What a lovely place this is, nestled down a pathway from Ogden Water reservoir and surrounded by wood and Moorland. The cakes and coffee are delightful and Steph is a wonderfully friendly host. Muddy boots and dogs are welcome but catered for in such a way that the cafe retains its quaint, stylish and homely feel.

Ogden water is well known for its walks, beautiful countryside, Victorian waterworks and quirky follies, Boggart Brig compliments the nature park perfectly whether you visit before or after your ramble ... or just for the cafe itself.

I worked at Ogden Water several years ago before the cafe was opened and have been a frequent visitor for many years. It has always been a favourite location for hiking and photography and now with Boggart Brig it has become a proper day out with all the facilities you will need. I can’t imagine one without the other now ! Highly recommended and top quality.

“A delight!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

What a find. It was our first visit to Ogden Water and after our walk we spotted the Boggart Brig Tea room sign. The normal route to it was closed off so there was access via a temporary path through woodland which made it all the more magical, wondering what we would find! Our 6 year old loved his lunch (little sandwich, fruit and a cake) and the clipboards and colouring/ drawing materials available for children and he was very intrigued by the Boggart tale. We loved our soup and lentil & bean pot. The best thing is that the tea room is welcoming of children and dogs too so we could all enjoy it - a rare combination! Lovely!

“Delightful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

Went there today - second visit - myself and daughter with our dogs - the food is delicious the best cafe ever and the prices better than other places - service cannot be bettered - if I was forced to be negative and this is under pressure - the chairs (around the tables not the others) are not the most comfortable - but everything else makes up for it - so thrilled we fell across this little gem - the surroundings are just wonderful a joy to just sit with good cuppa if not eating.

Been numerous times but today worst ever, totally disorganised.
Drink had to send back only aired, cake very good but had a hair in it. after placing order had a long wait.
Could i suggest tables numbered then take table number when order placed might help know whos ordered what.
Real Shame

Really sorry for your horribly bad experience on Sunday. I will try and implement your very good table numbers idea especially on busy days. Unfortunately most people had a wait on the 8th as it was very very busy with some large orders - we were a waiter too down which didn't help either. If you risk visiting us again please let me know and I will refund your cakes and drinks bill.
Sorry again Steph
