The Tower House Hotel
Ranked #8 of 10 Hotels in Halifax
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 14 August 2012

Having stayed in many hotels through business, The Tower House is one of the best! The rooms are spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and are finished to high standard. The food can not be faulted and is excellent value for money.

What makes the Tower House Hotel stand out from the rest is the high level of customer service which is outstanding from the management team, bar staff and the kitchen staff who all go out of their way to ensure you are always made welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

Ten out of ten for value and service – Highly recommend to all.

First impressions of this hotel is that it is in a great location - hidden in a leafy suburb just a couple of miles from the centre of Halifax - and that a lot of money has been spent on the fixtures and fittings. The rooms are small but well appointed and tastefully decorated and the power shower was amazing!

The main downside of the hotel is the staff. Not only did there not seem to be many of them about but the ones that were there did not conduct themselves in the most professional manner. At check-in, two young ladies spent more time bickering between themselves than they did welcoming me, taking my details, giving me my key, directing me to my room and giving me details about breakfast.

Other points to make: Breakfast was pretty standard, absolutely nothing special but perfectly adequate. The hotel boasts of complimentary WiFi however it is so slow, that it makes working at the hotel more or less impossible.

All in all, this is an OK hotel and I would stay here again but this hotel could be outstanding if they spent some time to bring the staff up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel.

Just been to my Neices wedding reception and night do here . Good food and service, the evening BBQ was top notch ! Ample parking and staff helpful. My only nighle would be a better wine selection. The MC was good and covered most points.

This hotel is just outstanding, our family have visited for many occasions. We just had our wedding here and of course we had an amazing day, but the hotel staff could not do enough all our guests commented on the delicious food and how good the staff were, this was each and everyone of them. This just made our day even more special. Rob and Nicola are very professional with a friendly touch and nothing is too much, you ask they will sort it if they can. You always get a warm welcome no matter what you go for. We have been just for food in the restaurant and this is worth a visit even if your not staying over, again we have always had amazing food. I could go and on about this place as I love it, but to sum it up the hotel and staff are just simply amazing.

I don't usually write reviews on hotels or restaurants but after the stay at the Tower House i felt i just had to ! It was stunning from start to finish , the decor of the room we stayed in was uniquely finished to a super high spec, really comfy , it just felt a real treat to be there and after a long drive up from London , a nice cold beer in the lush surroundings was well lets say rather refreshing! The staff were so friendly and helpful , made us feel at home right away, every meal we had was superbly done and i must say i was impressed with the staff's knowledge of their wines and how well they paired the wines we got recommended to the food. It was all ' Top Notch ' My favourite was the Turkey Paupiette, Rolled Turkey stuffed with sage and onion wrapped in smoked bacon , it was just to die for and the Un-oaked Australian Chardonnay that was recommended was the perfect match.. Bravo , i can still taste it now... We were there for a friends wedding and the DJ played some classics, the function room and all facilities were just right , i would and could HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Tower House to anyone wanting a superbly run, cool, friendly atmosphere, WELL PRICED venue for a wedding or family party etc.. or even just a nice get away . It's all there. 10 OUT OF 10. ! Thank you to everyone at the Tower House. x

I'm so glad we found this hotel on the internet as we would not have found it by driving past!It is tucked away amongst the houses but well worth a visit. We only stayed one night but it was good enough to warrant a return visit. Our room was only small but had a very comfortable bed and a large settee. Everything was stylish. The staff were all friendly and welcomed us, in spite of being busy with a wedding reception. We had the carvery lunch on Sunday which was excellent and obviously very popular with guests and non guests alike.Thank you!
