Can't fault the beer & atmosphere, for that it's one of the best pubs in Halifax and for miles around, without question. But until late 2013 they had an extensive food menu, much of it home cooked and excellent value. Unfortunately they now serve very liitle other than pies & peas with a jug of what appears to be no more than bisto. A shame, I'm sure the economics of the kitchen weren't working out, but with this current menu they'll miss out on beer sales too as many potential lunchtime eaters like myself will go elsewhere - and there's plenty of choice in this wonderfuil town!
