Have just returned home from a wonderful four day break . Where everything is done to make your stay that little bit special . From the spotlessly clean rooms , the freshly cooked to order breakfasts anything extra or needed to know about the area you just had to ask Jean/Eddie and they would oblige. So I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the very negative comments made Gazza thought he must have been staying in another guest house.Maybe he should have.So be a man Gazza and take up Jeans offer and do a days work there and then see for yourself the hard work that goes into making a guest house the best in Norfolk

Room Tip: The King size room with a seaview in my opinion is the best

We've been going to the White Lodge for the past 4 years at August bank holiday for a few days. You couldn't get better hosts than Jean and Eddie, nothing is too much trouble for them! The rooms are beautifully decorated and excellently cleaned every day. The breakfasts are superb and you are offered a choice of breakfast; if something you want is not on the menu you only need to ask Jean and she is happy to provide it for you. If you are unsure of places to visit then Jean will suggest plenty of great places and even print the information off for you. Jean and Eddie just put the finishing touches to our holiday which is why we go back every year.

Just returned from a two day break - everything about The White lodge was of a really high standard
We arrived in the middle of Jean making her lemon curd - but she took time to show us around the dinning area and the main lounge - explained all the house rules - she also sorted a fan out for us (needed because of the unusually hot weather)
The breakfast was a relax affair - nothing was to much trouble - we could sit and natter for has long as we liked - a good time to see where others had been and have suggestions of where to go
Although I am a little unsure of dogs - George was no problem at all
It was a good base to travel around the area and just far enough out of the town to be peaceful at night
The blueberry muffins that we took with us were the icing on the cake
Would recommend and revisit

I have just returned from spending a 3 night break with Jean and Eddy and not to forget George the dog !!!!!!!!!!!!
Upon our arrival we were greeted with a friendly atmosphere - we were shown into the lounge and offered a drink - Jean then went to check to see if our rooms were ready. Jean did a guided tour around the house pointing out various things to us - which also included 'Please feel free to help yourself to homemade cake and any fruit that you may wish to have'
My room was spotless and had everything that you could wish for - the room was also cleaned and tidied every day - both of the girls which help Jean are helpful and polite.
Jean went out of her way when she found out that I was allergic to bacon and sent Eddy out to purchase some turkey slices - Thank you Jean not many people would do that. The breakfast food was vast and had something to meet everyone's needs.
Jean is very particular that George does not go into the breakfast room whilst people are eating - neither does he go upstairs.
Jean is also a mind of knowledge and will find out things for you if you mention that you are planning to do something.
Just a little mention do go on the boat to see the seals it's fantastic.
I thoroughly recommend this lovely little place .
Julie

Well where do I begin. Have been coming to the white lodge for many years and am so impressed how hard jean and Eddie have. worked to transform the "lodge" from a very nice guest house, to a top class accommodation. As soon as you arrive you are greeted by jean, Eddie and their dog George who is a real character. I always stay in room 8, which is situated at the rear of the building and has French windows which open to reveal a lovely garden and the chickens, who provide the eggs for breakfast. The room itself is spotless with all the little extras you would need. The double bed is very comfortable with top quality bedding and I never fail to have a good nights sleep.I always set the alarm for the morning otherwise I would probably sleep through breakfast!!!!! Moving on to breakfast, they have a very good and practical system which works very well. You are given a menu each day to select what hot food you require, and what time you would like it the following morning. You then leave this at reception. In the dining room there is a self service station where you can help yourself to cereals and as much fruit juice, tea, coffee and toast as and when you like. (there are two toasters and a hot water boiler for you to use). This ensures everything is hot and fresh (no dried toast or cold tea/coffee with your meal!) On the other hand if you prefer, jean would quite happily make these for you if asked. You are then served the cooked breakfast you selected the day before at the time stated. This comes up piping hot and fresh with top quality ingredients used. If you choose to have the 'full English' don't bother booking anywhere for lunch, you won't need it! The property also has a very relaxing lounge with large TV, where you can chill out whether day or evening. Jean and Eddie are the perfect hosts, always there to help with anything you require, even with the booking of restaurant's or show's. I cannot fault this guest house in any way, and will continue to book the 'Lodge' whenever I am in Great Yarmouth. Thanks to Jean, Eddie and of course George (the friendliest dog) for making every visit a real treat.

Having just returned today after a 3 night stay. This was a really enjoyable and pleasant experience. Jean and Eddie make you feel very much at home with their wonderful hospitality. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with en-suite facilities.
The breakfast was plentiful and you had a choice. It really does set you up for the day!!
Nothing was too much trouble and they were really helpful, if you needed knowledge on places and where to eat etc. George the dog was always there to welcome you, he is lovely.
We would definitely go back to this Lodge, and also recommend to others. Save yourself time and look no further, as this is a truly amazing place and certainly ticks all the boxes.
The homemade cakes that you made were delicious, and a nice touch.
Keep up the good work, thanks again for a nice stay from Anna and Tony
