“Give yourself a treat!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2010

We stayed at the white lodge for 1 night as we were going greyhound racing and it is a short taxi ride away. We were given a warm welcome and shown around the hotel. If you want to give yourself a treat then stay at the White lodge. The quality of everything from food to linen is 1st calss. So much time has been taken in selecting the right decor and furnishings it feels like luxury staying at the White lodge. Will definitely return.

The first impression is very important, and we certainly had a good one here. We had a wonderful friendly welcome and that continued throughout our stay not just on arrival. It is also very clean and comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms spotless. A great choice for beakfast, good quality food with a friendly smiling face to serve you. If you want to stay in Great Yarmouth, stay here nothing is to much trouble.

If you are looking for a top-notch hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, book in here and you will not be dissappointed.
The bedrooms are clean, fresh feeling, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts are delicious and well presented in a light and airy dining room.
Jean, Eddie and Andrew do their utmost to ensure that everyone feels welcome and enjoys their stay.
It really is a lovely and relaxing place to stay and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Jean made us all welcome from the minute we got to the hotel. The facilities and rooms are immaculately clean and decorated to a very high standard second to none in a small hotel. Breakfast is cooked to order and absolutely delicious. Will definately visit again.

Firstly the location was great.Away from the main town which can be a bit noisy. Right opposite the seafront which is great. The house gave a welcoming feeling as did Jean, Eddie, Andrew and not forgetting George. The room was spotlessly clean and the bedding and towels were of top quality. We were spoiled for choice for breakfast which was served in a beautiful light and airy dining room over-looking the well kept garden.Everything on the tables matched and each table had fresh flowers as did the rooms. We have stared recommending friends to stay at this unique guest house We noticed that many guests go there . time after time because they feel as we do ,that it is home from home. So watch out!!! We will be back !!!!

We were looking for somewhere to stay with our 2 teenagers for a 4-day short break over the half-term holiday. We did a lot of research, and decided to try the White Lodge. We were a little unsure of the TripAdvisor reviews - at the time it showed 99x 5-stars and 3x 4-stars, and nothing below. Given the reviews of other properties, we thought ratings this good were a bit unlikely - but we were wrong. The high ratings are very well deserved.

Booking was very easy, Jean (the owner) was extremely helpful, and we got a very warm welcome upon arrival (and throughout our stay). We even got a card and special heart-shaped poached eggs for breakfast!! as she knew it was our 20th Wedding Anniversary.

The rooms were modern and well decorated, the beds extremely comfortable. The towels were all Egyptian cotton. The location is right by the beach, at the quieter end of town, but the main town is easy to walk to along the road or beach - or you can even take the road-train that runs right outside.

Breakfasts are a selection of cereals, toast, juices, coffee, tea, etc. plus your choice of cooked English Breakfast, Smoked Haddock and Eggs, or Poached Eggs on Toast etc. Between us I think we tried everything, and everyone agreed that the breakfasts are excellent.

Overall, I cannot think of ANY reason not to go back - I am certain that if we go to Great Yarmouth again, this is where we will stay.
